“Una Faccia, Una Razza”: The Bonds That Bind Greeks and Italians

From cuisine, physical appearance, and linguistic similarities to their massive cultural interrelationship, Greeks and Italians have so much in common, that one would need years to itemize each and every aspect of the bonds these two proud nations share with each other.

However, there is a famous Italian phrase that refers to Greeks, and epitomizes this close relationship and the bonds of fraternity which undeniably exist among the Greeks and the Italians: “Una Faccia, Una Razza.”

Literally translated to “One face, one race” and with its Greek variation being “Mia fatsa, mia ratsa” (Greek: μια φάτσα μια ράτσα), this beautiful Italian phrase incorporates the reality of centuries of history and cultural ties that Greeks and Italians share.

Modern DNA research has shown that many people living now in southern Italy share almost identical genetic information with a majority of the people who currently live in metropolitan Greece.

And how could that not be true since wave upon wave of Greek people throughout history have traveled, lived, and prospered in the areas of southern Italy and Sicily in particular.

Hi, Greece troll.

This isn't news or even interesting. People from neighbouring countries tend to be similar in many ways.

Greeks have better (healthier) cuisine.

I grew up with neighbors who were first generation Greek and Italian. The daughter was stunning but the son, who was two years younger than me looked like a troll. I hope he grew, lost some weight, got contacts and a decent haircut.

Yes..we all knew this already. Going back to the most ancient DL Greek actives, we’ve known this…

R7. You may have known it, but others may have not. Nothing wrong with a friendly reminder.

R7 is another cuntface hall monitor troll. Pretty sure DL isn't brimming full of Greco-Roman scholars....

900 threads a day about the BRF but just one history thread gets a whopping 6 posts and along comes cuntastic shitstain R7 to proclaim he's already over it because he's so very smart.

FUCK YOU R7! F&F!

I'm half-Greek and half-Italian (northern). We never did anything with my Italian side of the family, so I don't feel very connected to my Italian heritage (although my last name is Italian, I speak a little Italian, and I lived and worked in Rome for six months.)
