People are just callous. I have half-siblings and it's a lot of drama. It's bad enough to get divorced and go from baby mama to baby mama. At the very least, try to treat your children equally and as if you love all of them.

Sme with my own father. He remarried when he was older and had more kids, was much more of a father than he was to us. Many men aren't truly ready to settle down into domesticity until they are older.

Saying that you're taking fatherhood more seriously, now, is different from saying you're "more connected" to your youngest child. Yeah, it's probably true, but hard to hear if you're one of the older kids.

For what it's worth, it's probably not healthy to be co-sleeping with your kid at seven years old. That kid is probably spoiled as hell. I had an older father who was a like a best friend to me too. But looking back, he wasn't even like a father. He was just a big kid or a best friend. Not healthy and definitely not the best role model.

It's similar to when your siblings' kids are treated so much better by your parents. We were treated like shit growing up, it hasn't got much better, yet the grand kids are doted on. One of them constantly kisses up to the olds as well. It's embarrassing to watch, yet they lap it up.

My dad is like that with my younger half siblings. I agree its callousness. He probably wasn’t ready to be a dad until he was older and so he was actually involved in his youngest kids life and bonded with them. It’s his own fault he had kids too young and they are victims of his stupidity. It’s too bad some people don’t think at all before creating a life.

Maybe he was trying to soothe the feelings of his youngest one since she bears the heavy burden of looking like him...
