Taylor Zakhar Perez: Australian wool whore???

See WOOLmark in his IG stories below. He has like a 30-part point-by-point commentary on the wool production process down under?!? WTAF?!? (I assume he's paid to endorse it, but to whom?)

Nicholas got Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch so he had to overcompensate

His [redacted] is big in textiles.

by Anonymousreply 2September 9, 2023 3:19 PM

r1 I know exactly who one person is on that whole list. And I didn't know who he was until about 3 weeks ago.

by Anonymousreply 3September 9, 2023 3:25 PM

In fairness, it would be a bit odd to put established actors on a "To Watch For" list. That's kinda the whole point of said list.

by Anonymousreply 4September 9, 2023 3:28 PM

r4 True but its a weird list in general. Like Dominic Sessa is still a student has one role and by IMDB has nothing upcoming. same with a few of the others. I guess the strike kind of fucked them over a bit and they had to find some space fillers.

by Anonymousreply 5September 9, 2023 3:36 PM

R3, if the one you know isn't Charles Melton, you're *really* missing out! He is INSANELY hot. (But, sadly, straight, by all appearances.)

TZP is a whore for any job that pays well. But I can’t blame him. His body is magnificent and he’s getting up there in age. Get that bag, sis 👏

by Anonymousreply 7September 9, 2023 3:58 PM

All actors are whores in every sense of the word.

by Anonymousreply 8September 9, 2023 4:01 PM

Taylor is very interested in sustainability, and learning about how the everyday items we use are grown, produced and disposed of, and textiles is just one of the areas that he he has been exploring and highlighting on social media.

It’s refreshing to see an actor who has interests beyond just pursuing fame. I would certainly pay more attention to save the planet messaging if it was delivered by someone who looks like him!

His Twitter used to be l about NFTs, which was disgusting

by Anonymousreply 10September 9, 2023 4:02 PM

*all about

[quote]All actors are whores in every sense of the word.

Damn straight, darlin'.

by Anonymousreply 12September 9, 2023 4:05 PM

The husband is into crypto and NFTs, so that’s why.

by Anonymousreply 13September 9, 2023 5:11 PM

R3 THAT’S THE POINT OF THE LIST

by Anonymousreply 14September 9, 2023 5:12 PM

R13 Ew

by Anonymousreply 15September 9, 2023 5:29 PM

Also into understall 🤭

by Anonymousreply 16September 9, 2023 7:11 PM

Taylor is big in fashion too. I think his agent gets him gigs and if he likes it he does it. Now he is very big into sustainability and he is friends with Livia Firth who supports the anti-fast fashion movement.

by Anonymousreply 17September 9, 2023 7:56 PM

Fuck Variety for trolling Nicholas regarding his sexual orientation.

Smarmy media bastards.

As an Aside, I find better clothes at certain consignment stores and estate sales as well as on line (eBay) than I do in stores. Poor quality, overpriced, cheap fabrics even at better stores these days. So I'd rather buy used than "new" because too often "new" is crap. If you find a decent tailor he can recut and alter things to modernize them if necessary.

by Anonymousreply 19September 10, 2023 10:12 PM

R19, I agree 100%! I had to wear a suit to work for quite a few years, and since I was making decent money but certainly not "wealth," I had to figure out ways to economize. This was around 20 years ago, when eBay had been around for a bit, but still had lower name recognition outside the US.

The second time I shopped for suits on there, I did a double-take when I saw a too-good-to-be-true Buy It Now listing: a BRAND-NEW Brioni suit – trousers still entirely unhemmed – from a German men's shop for $375. Even 20 years ago, Brioni suits started around $4,000, and I'd seen one similar to the one on eBay at Barneys (RIP). I was half-convinced it HAD to be a fake, but then it arrived and I took it to my tailor, and he confirmed it was definitely legit!

(Speaking of which: also definitely agreed on finding a good tailor. A FOAF introduced me to one who initially seemed sketch AF: his "shop" (or I suppose studio) was a windowless room in some generic office building near Grand Central, and on an upper floor. He was also at least 70 by then, and took over a month to get anything done. The end results, however, were Savile Row-level tailoring for a tiny fraction of the price.)

The $375 Brioni is still the best deal I've seen to date, but my *favorite* deal to date was at the final closeout sale for Helmut Lang – and, to clarify, I mean the ORIGINAL Helmut Lang, not the resuscitated "brand" bought by Theory with far more pedestrian attire. In the very back, I found a stunning peacoat in an unusual royal blue color, and it was immediately obvious why it hadn't sold, even at 90% off ($2,000 reduced to $200): it was a men's 58 (in Euro sizing - equivalent to a size 48 men's suit jacket). I had no idea they even *made* clothes that big, and given that I wear a 42, the jacket looked ridiculous on me. Still, I had faith that my tailor could make it work, and that's exactly what happened – though the alterations ended up costing almost as much as the jacket itself, given how much literally all of it had to be "shrunken."

In any event, I didn't know Taylor was outspoken against fast fashion, but I'm glad to hear it.

by Anonymousreply 20September 11, 2023 7:18 PM

I think he calls it sustainable fashion. He models for the big fashion houses.

by Anonymousreply 21September 11, 2023 11:17 PM

Oh noble sheep, we eat your babies

We use your brains to fight off rabies

But the most beautiful gift you give us is wool

by Anonymousreply 22September 11, 2023 11:21 PM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 23December 7, 2023 7:48 PM

Late to this thread but really pleased Woolmark has an Ambassador. Australia and New Zealand have mountains of wool to sell, all grades etc. It's such a great product for cool and warm climates. Go Taylor push push push that wool.

by Anonymousreply 24December 7, 2023 7:57 PM

How the hell is Dominic Sessa signed with CAA? Holdovers is his first professional job. You'd think they'd ask for a little more credits.

by Anonymousreply 25December 7, 2023 7:59 PM

I'm willing to cut Perez a small bit of slack since his big chance to break out with Red White and Royal Blue was held back because of the strike. He would have been on all the talk shows and gotten some exposure if he had had the chance to do promotion for it.
