A lot of people think Bill's an ass so he might not be subject to the same kind of dragging.

What is going on with that man? He always liked to be edgy, be independent and not be in anybody's corner. But in recent years he seems to make a more conscious effort to really alienate all groups. Is age making him less patient? A personality disorder finally breaking through? I don't get it.

I know he often plays devil’s advocate, but recently his views have become a little frightening.

During COVID, someone guessed that he was getting cranky because he wasn't getting laid. Now it seems that he's cranky because the writers' strike is keeping him off the air with nothing but a podcast to spout his opinions.

He's been living more and more in his bubble. His Club Randon podcasts at first had interesting guests, but in the last few months they almost exclusively a list of who's who in deplorables and assholes.

He was the turd in the punch bowl on The Ari Melber Show the other day as well. Ari had him in the featured spot for light, fun banter and Bill was surly and self protective. I think it’s the onset of an old age malady of some sort.

I listened to his Club Random podcast with John Waters. It was entertaining but he didn't really have any points to make. John wisely sidestepped when Maher started on trans issues.

He’s old and tired just like his opinions.

Bill is so out of it and RUDE I love Club Random. He had Jordan Peterson on and Jordan is getting vulnerable about addiction and how he almost died from the pills - Bill interjects with "Tell you what man, we really used to party off that shit back in the day" and then just steamrolls over him bragging about his escapades.

Remember America's finest AIDS denialist Christine Maggiore? She ranted all the same things.

It is true that a lot of people who work in hollywood are not writers and are having a tough go of it. He's capable of making some jokes by himself.

His recent interview with Elon Musk was fucking bonkers. He basically spent the whole segment telling Musk he was a genius and kissing his ass. Maher has had some, let's say, questionable opinions over the years, but I was shocked that he was so readily buying into all of Musk's bullshit when he's usually the guy calling out the bullshitters.

I was a huge Bill Maher fan. However...

I'm losing faith in him. He has a very smug attitude thinking he can win over Repig assholes simple by talking with them while he sits there and gets high on weed. He changes nothing except it seems like he feels even more superior in his delusional mind. It's rather tiring.

He used to be someone I would enjoy watching because he could call the Repugs on their crap but lately he just seems to want to say crazy outrageous and ignorant things which makes me think he has a MAGA hat hidden away.

Is he auditioning for the next Limbaugh?

He is a POS who, allegedly, has a history of enjoying the comforts of Negress Prostitutes.

Some of his views have always been fucked up. He's an anti-vaxxer. Also, have you seen his YouTube show where he gets plowed with booze and weed? Not cute. For years he was so sanctimonious about the environment when he was riding the private jet thing everywhere (he "confessed" to this recently, as if we couldn't figure it out). He's deadly unfunny, especially when he laughs at his own jokes before the punchline. How he succeeded as a comedian is beyond me.

He's full of contradictions and stupid statements but he can also be provocative.

I remember a show a few years ago, he obsessed over his neighbor's Christmas lights. He went on and on about how stupid the people were to decorate using Christmas lights. He's tiresome.

I am a big fan. I've watched his show religiously for years. He's moved a bit too far to right for me recently, but that doesn't bother me. I can handle people with different ideas and priorities.

But not scabs. The one issue I don't ever bend on is labor. As much as I wish TV was back, having Real Time is a fucking slap in the face to everything the writers are fighting for.

This is unforgivable for me. And Maher knows better. If he was really concerned about his non writing staff? He could have done what Kimmel, Myers and Colbert are doing. Starting a podcast and giving the proceeds to their staff.

Even when he had "Politically Incorrect" he would get visibly angry when his jokes did not land and the audience did not laugh. After a couple of seasons on HBO I stopped watching. He is a sanctimonious right-winger and embraces all the right-wing loon conspiracies.

He eventually won me over in the old days, as I was not originally a fan. I think the story about John Waters blowing him during a sleepover finally opened my mind a bit. I have noticed a decline in recent years, combined with a decided shift to the right. The fact that he can’t decide on a hair color is also telling I think. He looks increasingly unkempt as well. The first professional thing I noticed was a noticeable change in guests: far fewer Black folks. Other than occasional, Black RWNJs, African-Americans just seemed to disappear from his show. The cozying up to Rogan was bizarre and distasteful, but the last straw for me was his public blow job on Felon Musky. Repulsive and shocking. The decision about becoming a scab was just confirmation that I had done the right thing. His twilight years are not going to be fun. Good luck, have fun, Bill!

Did anyone watch/listen to his interview with David Spade on his podcast? David came across so much better than Bill. Intelligent, reasonable, humble. Bill was downright rude and frankly, delusional. He kept comparing himself to David, saying "guys who look like us" or "guys our age". Bitch, please. David may not be hot but he's at least three notches above Bill in the looks department and he's way younger too.

It's also becoming obvious he regrets not getting married. David has never been married either and rarely brings it up because you can tell he's comfortable with his decision. Bill shoehorns his anti-marriage stance into every conversation--related, or not--because he's insecure about it.

R40, the NIAID put out an excellent article debunking the HIV denialist myths. Unfortunately, it's more than twenty years old. Maher obviously knows very little about the subject and is easily misled.

HIV denialism was more understandable back in the 1980s when only AZT was available. Now the drugs that are available are much better and people are living much longer. The new drugs were developed based on the structure of HIV and the way it acts. If HIV were correlated to AIDS and not the cause, that would not be the case.
