Favorite story about Guadagnino is that he pursued Armie Hammer for CMBYN and was so heavily invested in getting a good performance out of the limited Hammer that he would actually show him clips of actors in scenes from other movies and would ask Hammer to imitate the facial expressions.

He on at least one occasion became so fed up with Hammer’s inability to understand the role that he slapped him.

There’s the temptation to write off Elordi as a vacuous prettyboy but if you ever actually watch his interviews, he’s very thoughtful. FE has the Japanese poster of Rebel Without a Cause but he can also explain why it’s important to him. Very much reminds me of Keanu.

Luca Guadagnino made no secret of his hardon for Armie Hammer but he also relished being intellectually superior to him. An Elordi collaboration where the object of desire is also this thoughtful, introspective person could be a watershed project for him because Elordi would make him his slave. It would be a male version of an early Deneuve or Brigitte Bardot film.

He's so obsessed with straight guys, it's embarrassing at this point. You're supposed to get over that phase by the time you hit your twenties.

r12 Keanu? One of the absolute worst actors in Hollywood that somehow managed to have this outlandish career. I'm still perplexed by his success because he was hot, but not that hot. Jacob is pretty, but his size makes him look awkward. He's no wear near Keanu at his peak beauty, his 20s.

Keanu is a limited actor but he is also a Star. Capital S. Jon Hamm or Jeremy Allen White or Jeremy Strong can act circles around Keanu but they will never have what Keanu has because it is so rare and undefinable. It’s not about being the most talented or the prettiest.

r15 not to derail but i don't see his star power. He's just a void. no personality, no charisma on screen,, and his line delivery is always painful. I understand he's one of those stars I will never understand. Nothing against the guy, just think he's worse then Marky Mark in the acting department.

Jacob want him an Oscar.

Jacob is sort of annoying and his looks are fading fast. I hope things workout, but I've yet to see him in a better role than Nate Jacobs in S1 of euphoria. That Elordi was hot and mysterious.

R22 I really didn't either UNTIL I started watching "Euphoria."

He looks good and plays an asshole really well, and all you want to do is SAVE HIM from HIMSELF. But that doesn't seem too challenging considering that 97% of his character's appeal is being HOT.
