Gayle Hunnicutt is DEAD to me

Though she was American and in the later seasons of Dallas, she was probably a lot better known in the UK, where she was a staple of theatre and tv, including The Golden Bowl, Fall of Eagles and as Irene Adler with Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes.

She was terrible on Dallas. On Absolutely Fabulous it was always implied that she made soft core porn with Patsy.

She played Alexandra in Fall of Eagles.

Terrible rhinoplasty.

Was Gayle a better Alexandra than Janet?

We were just discussing her in a thread about Eye of the Cat in which she starred with Eleanor Parker.

For some reason, wildly popular in England, got many plum roles on British TV.

The fact that WAY too much was taken off her nose during her nose job was very distracting, I can never get past it.

The former Lady Jenkins.

I was a big fan of hers, especially in The Legend of Hell House.

R12, I liked her in that, too

One of the first VHS movies I bought was Once in Paris in the late 80s. It used to play on cable a lot earlier in the decade. Screenwriter (Wayne Rogers) hooks up with a rather aloof English woman played by Gayle, and they end up falling in love. Wonderful film I can watch over and over. Sophisticated adult drama with beautiful Paris scenery. Highly recommend if you’re a Gayle fan.

R15 did you watch Sins with Joan Collins?

by Anonymousreply 16September 4, 2023 11:39 PM

R16 long time ago but can hardly remember it.
