Both.

Yes .

It's genius, but hard to watch because the embarrassment meter is always up so high.

The first three seasons are brilliant.

Thank you. I tried to stream it and it was painful.

I love the theme. It's going through my head as I type.

Hate it.

Use to love it. But after 30 years of the same schtick, Larry seems to be running to the same well over and over again for laughs.

I loved it up until the season where he gets with Vivica. After that I kinda got bored.

I loved it until the Trump years and then couldn’t watch it. It was all too much. It’s not a show to binge watch. You have to cherry pick. That being said I could watch Susie all day.

Couldn't watch it. It wasn't funny.

The season 10 was tremendous.
I like it more than Seinfeld.
He makes me feel normal.

Season 10*

My favorite TV series of all time.
I feel embarrassed for some characters some of the time, but that's part of why I love it. (I could say the same about Ricky Gervais' series The Office and Extras.)
Some of the stuff is chiseled in memory - "car wash cunt," Mocha Joe, "No, HUGH!", the kid with the huge penis, the Christmas episode ("You ate the Baby Jesus and his mother Mary!"), "beloved cunt," the sweaty waitress, the headless doll, the Susie portrait, Marty Funkhauser . . .
CYE is for me is what Golden Girls or I Love Lucy is to some of you knuckleheads.

I was surprised to see him use a common sitcom trope--Larry tells a lie to avoid embarrassment and then someone demands verification of what he said, which leads to a bigger lie and being exposed as a liar.
There also the unwritten rule that someone breaks like having plumber's butt and Larry announces the rule has been broken, and someone else says "Oh no, you can't ......... Everyone knows that."
Lots of people, usually foreign, screaming at him at retail establishments with Larry getting tossed out.
Another one is Larry seeing someone do something slovenly and Larry's horror at having to continue dealing with that person.
Or Larry treats someone horribly and then learns that person is indispensible to his future and must bring them around.
What have I missed? It seems as if he's always playing golf and going to the doctor.

Loved Marty Funkhauser r15, as played by the late, great Bob Einstein. I grew up watching The Super Dave Osbourne Show. He was always comedically brilliant. And there were so many other great supporting actors in CYE, too, be they regulars or cameos. Too many to name here.
There's a great documentary called "The Super Bob Einstein Movie" from HBO that profiles his comedic genius. Highly recommend.

I liked the early seasons for the most part, but I don’t seek it out at the point.

It can be really funny, but overall it's hard for me to watch because the central character is such an awful person. I get very tired of his pettiness, even if that's the whole point of the show.

I love the recurring in-joke in the early seasons that people are always telling him Seinfeld was a great show but running George down, and Larry always springing to George's defence, as though when he was writing it he thought he made George totally admirable.
Of course he's always playing golf and going to the doctor, R16. You would too if you were an ageing hypochondriac with that much money.
