This tattoo, like all tattoos, will only degrade from here into a blur, like all our lives.

I don't know why film actors get large, elaborate tattoos. It has to be a pain coming in that much earlier to get them covered up if you're playing a minister or a caveman or something. You'd think directors would bitch about the extra trouble, as well. Or am I grossly overestimating how hard it is to cover a tattoo?

It looks like a decal. I admire people who get tatts. It takes a lot of self-confidence to see yourself as the kind of person who would have tattoos. I've always looked at myself as someone on whom tattoos would look ridiculous, like people would smirk and think why does that nerdy dipshit think he's cool enough for tatts? Just not cool enough to be inked.

I associate it more with dumb people. I know a number of people who got horrible, ugly tattoos and regret it. The smart people tend to think of how it's permanent and that they might regret it.

I scrolled through after clicking on the link above and came across a wordy apology letter that he'd apparently written for his children. Said children had written "I forgive you" at the bottom, but by their handwriting they look far too young to have understood the letter.

Imagine writing a lengthy note to your children, knowing they won't understand it, and then imagine uploading it for the world to see in an obvious attempt to fish for compliments.

Social media has a lot to answer for.

Can you imagine having a guy who looks like Ritchson -- a freaking god -- as your dad? horseplay, affection. he seems very involved in their lives and is an active dad.

He posted a video of him searching for a projectile toy that his son had fired off; took him a while; they were in a residential hilly area; he hands it to the kid and the kid mutters a oh thanks; Ritchson looks into the camera as it to bond with parents who have kids that don't quite fathom had great it is to have a dad who can seemingly do everything.

I never got why people get tattoos. It's become such a cultural trend in the last 25 years where it is almost expected than you get one. Some get tattoos to signify an important event or person in their lives, some do it as a decorative image that they like, or to commemorate something of spiritual significance. If it makes them happier having it, more power to them. I personally don't need to have a branded inked image on my skin to mark any of that.

Save your skin. Get a journal is you need to remember some fucked up landmark in your life.

Get a freakin' temporary tattoo that last a few weeks instead. I believe many get a tattoo as an impulse and are over it within several months or a year.
