MSNBC - Part 49
by Anonymous | reply 601 | September 23, 2023 12:27 AM |
And because we are civilized folks in the MSNBC Threads, please wait till Part 48 closes at 600.
Thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 16, 2023 8:26 PM |
Welcome to Part 49, the MSNBC thread continues!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 18, 2023 1:50 PM |
Well, now that we're all here, does anyone have anything to say?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 18, 2023 2:24 PM |
Symone MUST be friends with Selma Glutide.
She is swinging a smaller ass these days.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 18, 2023 2:40 PM |
Well I could repeat what I wrote near the end of the last thread:
"Mika has the morning off. She's at an undisclosed location somewhere in the south of France."
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 18, 2023 2:42 PM |
And I could repeat that she is a NATO currier for her brother.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 18, 2023 2:43 PM |
Meaning that she flavors his Indian takeout?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 18, 2023 3:00 PM |
Joe occasionally references
A website run by Chinese cultists
Who is that?
Marsha Blackburn has gone silent
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 18, 2023 3:04 PM |
So glad we rushed into this new thread so everyone could contribute something meaningful to the conversation.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 18, 2023 3:29 PM |
Mika needs Fridays off. All that sighing is exhausting.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 18, 2023 4:04 PM |
r9, it is all about the peaceful transition rather than a dozen people starting a dozen threads and every one claiming they were first when being first isn't the issue.
All about the transition.
Oh, and what the fuck is up with Jen's mascara? She needs to brush the clumps out of her eyelashes. Either that or never be split-screen with the flawless Alexi McCammond. The comparison is not flattering to Jen.
How about that for meaningful R9?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 18, 2023 6:28 PM |
Kelly O'Donnell has slimmed down.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 18, 2023 7:16 PM |
Watching MJ on Peacock until Nicolle shows up for DW. Today is Friday so she will probably finish the week from Scrambled Egg.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 18, 2023 7:24 PM |
Yikes! Justing seeing Kelly O'Donnell now. She really has lost a lot of weight. Hope she's ok, I don't think she looks healthy.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 18, 2023 10:49 PM |
Probably the Selma.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 18, 2023 10:58 PM |

Wonder if SEXY Andrew Weissmann will pop-up tonight?!?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 19, 2023 12:03 AM |
JOY got him TONIGHT!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 19, 2023 12:09 AM |
Joy said he has a nice house. I wonder what it looks like.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 19, 2023 12:28 AM |
There are often glimpses of it when he's interviewed at home. Very cool.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 19, 2023 2:12 AM |
Joe, you know her, ask Miss Lindsey to appear on MJ.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 19, 2023 8:46 PM |
Lindsay on MJ?
Oh good God I can't [bold]begin[/bold] to imagine the amount of sighing Mika would subject us to every time the flustered senator tried to answer a question.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 19, 2023 10:19 PM |
Miss Lindsey, is it common knowledge in Washington DC that Senator Tim Scott is a homosexual?
That question?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 20, 2023 3:06 AM |
If Senator Tim Scott can run as a bachelor never married, no kids…then Senator Chris Murphy can divorce that ugly wife.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 20, 2023 1:30 PM |
Miss Lindsey is showcased by Fox Tuesday to Friday. Monday is hangover day after the weekend. When Fox doesn’t treat her as a queen, she runs to Newsmax.
She will chat with Manu Raju and others to her liking in the Capitol corridors. She won’t appear on CNN otherwise. Don’t see her being interviewed on MSNBC’s weekday line-up either. She only appears in forums whereby the questions are softball, and the anchor is fawning over her. That’s Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters methodology as to her.

Steve Kornecki has on the most beautiful powder blue khakis/chinos today. I was so tried of the palomino brown ones and these are a winner. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of them this fall.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 21, 2023 1:21 PM |
You will, because he rarely changes or launders them.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 21, 2023 1:24 PM |
Yes, r32. The pants often look as if they haven’t been on a hanger, and we’re not washed between each wearing.
That’s OK for casual activities, but on camera, millions see it. Most viewers don’t bother to notice, but plenty do.
He doesn’t look messy. However, he’s not into high grooming and primping much.

by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 21, 2023 2:51 PM |
Somehow, I just have this crazy feeling that Steve has multiple khakis in several colors.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 21, 2023 3:00 PM |
Bets on who is filling in for Chris Hayes tonight?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 21, 2023 3:27 PM |
Steve looks like he doesn’t keep that ass properly clean.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 21, 2023 3:47 PM |
Steve has long stopped wearing the khakis. Just a few weeks ago he had on the powder blue ones and a navy pair.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 21, 2023 5:57 PM |
But khaki is a fabric as well as a color. So Steve is still wearing khakis, right?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 21, 2023 7:40 PM |
Sorry, those were dove gray twill trousers. Not khakis.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 21, 2023 8:00 PM |
r40, you must have gotten awfully close if you could see the twill weave.
In any case, if the trousers are made of cotton, they're still chinos or khakis, no matter the weave. The original khakis were manufactured for the military and they were all of a twill weave. Jeans have also always been of a twill weave, then and now.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 21, 2023 9:35 PM |
Broadcloth trousers are not chinos.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 21, 2023 10:23 PM |
Does anyone still use the term "slacks"?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 21, 2023 11:33 PM |
Neal Katyal is sooo fucking sexy with those chest hairs poking out from under his shirt. He could get it anytime, anyway he wants.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 21, 2023 11:37 PM |

Joy-Ann Reid has gone full-on hooker blonde.

Jen Psaki for the win!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 22, 2023 1:10 AM |
So Jen is the semi permanent sub for Chris on Monday? I was getting a vibe that Rachel didn't like the handoff with Chris ever since the dismissive incident with Weissman.
I like Jen
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 22, 2023 1:16 AM |
MSNBC has had an occasional pop up today that Rachel will be on at 11:00 PM on Wednesday after the Republican Debate.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 22, 2023 1:31 AM |
I'm watching Steve in his new powder blue chinos right now and I don't get what some of you are talking about. They're just chinos in powder blue. Is it Gap's new color for fall?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 22, 2023 1:35 AM |
Maddow time!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 22, 2023 2:02 AM |
Give Jen & Symone that 8pm slot and get Chris Hayes the fuck out of there!
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 22, 2023 2:20 AM |
R52. NO! NO! and NO! I can only take Jen in small doses--and Symone hardly at all.
I am a big MSNBC fan, but on Saturday afternoon, I have to switch to Jim Acosta on CNN to avoid Symone, Rev Al Sharpton and Alicia Menendez. All three of them are like watching paint dry. They're awful. Why is Sharpton still on TV? And Menedez is dreadfully boring.
Besides, I like Chris Hayes.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 22, 2023 2:42 AM |
I go cold turkey on weekends with MSNBC and all news unless something major is going on.

by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 22, 2023 3:22 AM |
Did anyone else catch scummy John Eastman's very hot preppie lawyer Charles Burnham with Ari tonight? What a handsome man and he very cool answering Ari's hard questions. This was his second appearance with Ari and I'm surprised he hasn't been discussed here. Or did I miss that?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 22, 2023 4:07 AM |
Alicia is in on the 11th Hour.
I find her smart, focused and on top of her material.
Alicia is my favorite B Stringer.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 22, 2023 11:11 AM |
Mika hates Rachel because Joe hates Rachel.
Despite 40 years of “claim your worth” she reverted to society wife as soon as she got Joe.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | August 22, 2023 11:38 AM |
I think that Mika makes up her own mind.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 22, 2023 11:48 AM |
I'm not so sure that Mika hates Rachel because on at least two shows when Joe wasn't on, I've heard her mention an interview Rachel had done the night before.

R66 bwahahaha so it was Mika on her own then that is on recorded voice letting Trump know that they would go easy on him during an interview leading up to 2016.
I’m sure that had nothing to do with her relationship with Joe.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 22, 2023 12:49 PM |
If Nicolle's (lack of) makeup is any indication, she's back at the beach house. WTF with her? Even Rachel's makeup is better when she zooms in from fly-fishing.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 22, 2023 10:06 PM |
Rachel’s zoom camera is better than Nicolle’s too. Heck even Joy looks better than that mess.

I'd agree that Nicolle must be at her vrbo or beach house. Her makeup/wardrobe and camera set-up have clearly been superior from her normal home studio.

Word for word r75.
For me, it's because there is nothing new to observe about Trump. It's all been said. The only truly surprising thing that could interest me about Trump is when he finally drops dead or negotiates a plea offer.
Lawrence O'Donnell presents on his program the only thing that does interest me - the procedural and legal arguments presented by the parties within all of Trump's cases.
I've always liked Rachel, but now, for me, O'Donnell's show is the only don't-miss-it.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | August 23, 2023 1:42 PM |
O'Donnell seems to loathe Trump more deeply than anyone else. I like him for that.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | August 23, 2023 4:21 PM |
Joy loathes him too, and rightfully so. He’s mentioned her a time or two, as have his minions at Fox, which I’m sure tickles her.

No one loathes Dump more than Nicolle. Or Joy. Or Lawrence. Or Chris. Or Alex. Or Stephanie. Or Jen. Or Mika & Joe. They all do but some of them, like Rachel and Ari ,just hide it a little better.

Skipped ahead to the end, no details on his exact whereabouts, but they're both excited about their live podcast on 09/06 - the arraignment day for all Fulton Co. defendants.
Andrew - Mary I look forward to being with you, live in the same room and not an ocean apart. Mary - Absolutely. Yes looking forward to it. And get home safely.

Nick Corasaniti's loft looks like a lovely, white-themed retreat. Is that a glowing translucent surfboard he has positioned in front of his west facing window?

Velshi announced that Nicole will be back on the air tomorrow. Why come back on the Wednesday of the Labor Day weekend? Just stay out, recharge, and resume next Tuesday. If she needs to just get away from her pocket-hubby, I completely understand that. Ewwee.

Wednesday & Thursday, worked, and the regular NEGOTIATED 4 day Holiday weekend.

When does Joe & Mika return for Morning Joe? After Willie returned, they split again. It is not like they haven’t had summer vacations already this year. Joe could be dissecting Ramaswamy this week.

I think it's an "August in Southern France" thing.
Ultimately, it's a Rashida contract thing.
I was asked to join an MSNBC viewer's group, a part of MSNBC. There were plenty of regular questions about how much do you watch this or that and as I turn on MSNBC when I get up, turn it off when I sleep and fill in with Peacock, I guess I am a HEAVY USER. Anywho, the last of the all boring questions was about Alex Wagner. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
I wonder if Jen Psaki is moving?
by Anonymous | reply 144 | August 30, 2023 1:47 AM |
Rashida is going to regret having Ali filling so much. Two hours for Nicolle and one for Alex Wagner. Is he going to do the 11th Hour as well? Handoff to Lawrence and Lawrence handoff to him.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | August 30, 2023 2:14 AM |
Ali Velshi filled in for Nicolle Wallace for 2 hours this afternoon and did a great job dealing with news that broke minutes before the show started. Now, he's back again for another hour, filling in for Alex Wagner. (Meanwhile, the network's highest-paid star, Rachel Maddow, anchors 1 hour a week.) Ali works harder than anyone else at MSNBC, but they'll never give him a prime time show.

Ramaswamy was on the Andrea Mitchell show Tuesday, eating Andrea's lunch and laughing in her face. It had to be one of the lowest points of her career. Sad.
Which mental giant thought this would make for anything but a disastrous interview? You're losing me, MSNBC.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | August 30, 2023 9:44 AM |
R153
Put that asshole on with Joe S and get ripped to shreds, not Andrea who can’t articulate a word.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | August 30, 2023 10:14 AM |
Ramaswamy is a fast-talking, rudely interrupting, and slick character. Andrea Mitchell is OK for certain types of gentle and polite interviews, but not with the aggressive and arrogant Ramaswamy, or anyone else with similar traits. Plus, the generational divide was so blatant.
Ramaswamy probably agreed to an MSNBC interview only if Andrea Mitchell was conducting it. MSNBC’s judgment on this one was inadequate.
Mitchell’s generally appeals to a segment of midday, senior-age, mostly older women viewers, who are long familiar with her.

It was just last month or July that Nicolle went out for an unexpected family emergency. I remember them playing the sympathy card but then never heard what the event was. Perhaps it’s a continuing situation?

Nicolle has been remoting in from her suburban houses because it’s summer and her kid is out of school for the summer.
Most moms don’t have that option like Nicolle, Alex & Stephanie. Before covid they all went to work in the studio and took off when on vacation. They remote looks like shitty tv and the execs need to pull the plug elite remote tv shows.

Rachel's Monday shows with the folksy back stories lose me right away. She takes forever to get to the point, or to tie the past to the present. She needs to go back to at least 3 days a week, there is too much that's going to happen in the next year up to the election, and rolling out the Red Sea for her alone, is jarring. I also think Alex W. is ok, just not in that prime time slot.

I disagree. I really appreciated Gabe G. out there, his wet sports clothing clinging to his body. I couldn't make out much about his nipples, but did manage a few glimpses of his VPL. by Anonymous | reply 175 | August 30, 2023 9:31 PM |
Joe & Mika have said any of the serious candidates running for President are welcomed to appear on MJ.
I am doubtful Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, V. Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott would appear on MJ. They love invitations from Fox and Newsmax for softball questions and anchors fawning over each.

How can Christie not have diabetes and cardiovascular issues? He’ll be age 61 on September 6th. He has carried a massive amount of weight at least since he’s been in politics.
While he’s had substantive executive experience in government, I would add him to the list of politicians that are a potential health risk in terms of physical fitness to be President. Mentally, he has sharpness. That doesn’t mean his policy views need endorsed. Bridegate and Beachgate are two of his acts that produced big baggage.
I like him now ripping into Trump. He serves a purpose.

Worst background: Jason Johnson and that stupid collection of Funko pop dolls Best background: Claire McCaskill's kitchen, with the flowers, baked goods under the glass dome, and the coffee station! I would happily watch IN THE KITCHEN WITH CLAIRE any day! Honorable mention: Carol Leonnig's kitchen, always with the fresh fruit on display, and her blue and white couch cushions.

I always try and figure out what the other art work is on Neal's walls. Some of it almost looks like theatrical set designs but I don't think Neal, in spite of the Hamilton poster, is a big theater fan.

Jen Psaki has really improved since she hit the airwaves. At first I wasn’t so sure. But isn’t she more of a Sunday show host with her “insider’s view of the week’s news,” etc. I thought that was her angle.
by Anonymous | reply 310 | September 7, 2023 10:41 PM |
I love Jen Psaki and I'm thrilled whenever she subs for anyone, but even I get enough of MSNBC during the week so as not to tune in on a Sunday afternoon (when news is rarely breaking).
I imagine that's true of lots of their viewers and maybe it was a wise decision to give Jen a low profile show where she can learn without everyone watching. I do believe that within the next 2 years she'll be replacing Alex (who I love but is so dull) or at least be given the 11 pm slot (which I think would be perfect for her skillsets).
In a democracy, it is the responsibility of the Fourth Estate to speak truth to the powerful by informing the public so that they can make good decisions about their leaders and society. The Fourth Estate in America, what we can broadly describe as "the news media," has failed in many ways to follow through on those responsibilities during the Age of Trump and the ongoing democracy crisis.

If not at least addressed, I think it will be the elephant in the room throughout all their future reporting on news organizations providing a platform for and promoting DJT.
They should have had Jonathan Swan do a follow-up interview with Dump.
I loved it whenever Swann would get exasperated by an idiotic Trump response to a question. He would have one of those "What the fuck are you talking about?" expressions on his face.
I can't imagine Welker ever doing that.
by Anonymous | reply 534 | September 19, 2023 3:24 AM |
I don't know how Kristin Welker could sit there with a straight face while interviewing Trump when he said "I'm a smart person." I would have burst out laughing.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Tired of the Rap. Ari Melber finally had on Bill Gates, It was an short but interesting segment. I almost forgot it was a news channel and not a dedicated music channel devoted almost entirely to one genre. It's tired and played out.
by Anonymous | reply 544 | September 20, 2023 9:14 AM |
No R539, it's just that Joyce is far from what most people would say is easy on the eyes and her attempts to glam it up always feel like she just walked out of a department store makeup session. Jesus H Christ Rashida, MSNBC is a billion dollar company, open up your tight wallet and give that woman a professional stylist and makeover.
We like what she says, she's a great asset to MSNBC but her on cam image is very distracting.

Two words: Joy Reid
by Anonymous | reply 546 | September 20, 2023 9:42 AM |
I think Joy has one. She seems to have really pulled back on the parade of wigs from the discount mall. Someone there must have had a "talk" with her. I am guessing they hired someone to give her a look to stick with but they need to extend that to the regular guests like Joyce who could use a little help.
Compare that to bimbo types with big tits, blond hair and pencil skirts you see on Fox. You know they have a team of makeup artist and stylist going on there. Mainly because news content is irrelevant.
by Anonymous | reply 547 | September 20, 2023 1:07 PM |
I think the thing about Joyce is her look (mostly concerning makeup) is so inconsistent, it's jarring. If she'd stick with one approach, we'd all get used to it.
I follow her on Instagram where she often posts photos of herself with the chickens she raises. Very sweet! I was also quite surprised by a photo of her with all of her fellow podcast lawyer ladies Jill, Barb and Kimberly standing together and Joyce was the smallest one.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | September 20, 2023 2:37 PM |
R547 - Try as we may, there is no excusing Reid's on-air styling. She is an embarrassment to the legacy of the polished Black professionals who preceded her, and to the viewers who recognize the distinction.
Reid (and others) has contributed to the exodus from MSNBC of a generation and class of viewers - the very audience she was hired to attract.

Why? Because she doesn't fit your stereotype of a black mammy?

by Anonymous | reply 553 | September 20, 2023 6:24 PM |
Joy clearly has a stylist. Her face is BEAT on a daily basis, her nails are manicured, she rarely (if ever) wears the same thing twice and her hair is always styled. I think ditching the wigs was a good thing.

I like the fact that Joyce is always mixing it up. It adds some suspense and keeps you guessing. You never know which version of Joyce will appear on any given day.

Is Nicolle Wallace mad that Mommy got the Cassidy interview?
by Anonymous | reply 565 | September 21, 2023 2:54 AM |
No worries, Nicolle. Once Rachel is done with her, Cassidy will be the pass around bottom on all the MSNBC shows, you can be sure. She's got a book to sell!
And I can't wait! I've been wondering when Cassidy would get out there and really tell her side of the story.
by Anonymous | reply 566 | September 21, 2023 3:03 AM |
My god, the quote from Cassidy's book about Giuliani that Lawrence is quoting right now is a whole new level of low.
by Anonymous | reply 567 | September 21, 2023 3:04 AM |
Why does Ari Melber force all his guest to respond to Rap lyrics? You can tell 3/4 of his guest try to play along but they all look uncomfortable because most of them dont know or listen to that type of music. The vast majority of people over 40 dont listen to Rap unless they are in that type of industry. It's awkward and he really needs to cut it out.
Imaging if some gay news anchor who grew up in the 70's was on MSNBC and kept forcing his guest to repeat lines from Donna Summer? MMMMM, OOOOOHHH, Love to Love you Baby, come on say it with me! Come on Joyce, come on General McCaffrey!

R564 Joyce and the other ladies on #SistersInLaw all get lots of free merch from the products they flog on their podcast, and frequently give personal testimonials for the various make-up that they have tried out.
Probably contributes somewhat to the variability in her look.
by Anonymous | reply 576 | September 21, 2023 10:41 PM |
Well, that would be impossible since Nicolle WAS a hardcore Republican for most of her life. Brian would never have gone down that road. I dare say he's a lot smarter than she is. Quick thinker and a lot younger. Not bad on the eyes either.
