Jesus is an evil libturd

So say evangelicals to their pastors according to this guy.

American “Christians” tend to like to think about end times, the smiting of their enemies, and being taken up in the rapture, and to “feel” the love of Jesus.

Listening to what the stinky Jew taught? Oh, please.

by Anonymousreply 1August 15, 2023 2:52 PM

The evangelicals always have been Satan-worshipping pagans. And you're a fool and don't know much (or anything) about religion if you think any part of that statement is incorrect.

by Anonymousreply 2August 15, 2023 2:52 PM

It does seem like evangelicals are fixated on a wrathful, vengeful God and not a loving, forgiving one.

by Anonymousreply 3August 15, 2023 2:54 PM

It also shows that these people never pick up a Bible themselves.

by Anonymousreply 4August 15, 2023 2:55 PM

Evilgelicals. Being saddled with that trash is why the US will never have nice things.

by Anonymousreply 5August 15, 2023 2:59 PM

Angry politics is the new religion for these wacko Christian evangelicals

by Anonymousreply 6August 15, 2023 3:11 PM

Republicans and MAGAts Christianity is as fake as their alleged "patriotism."

by Anonymousreply 7August 15, 2023 3:14 PM

Seriously? How can you be a xtian and NOT believe in Jesus C H R I S T.

It's literally in the name.

by Anonymousreply 8August 15, 2023 3:17 PM

They co-opt the few parts of the Bible that they can use for their spectacle of hate and worship of money, which is all American Christianity is. They don't love Jesus or follow his example. Any one of them saying they do is a gaslighting fuckwit.

by Anonymousreply 9August 15, 2023 3:22 PM

Shocking. (not)

Jesus was a Jewish carpenter that fed the multitudes, hung out with hookers, the sick, the poors and misfits; got mad at the moneychangers at the Temple ("you will not make my Father's house a house of merchandise!), was a great bartender at the wedding in Cana; and liked to fish. He healed people and said the poors are blessed and we should care about each other and do good even when people don't like you or persecute you for it. That rich people have a hard time seeking G*d. That loving others is the attribute most like G*d and the first commandment.

If these "Christians" actually read the Gospels they'd know what they "practice" in His name is nothing like Him.

by Anonymousreply 10August 15, 2023 3:30 PM

Jesus was a migrant and a refugee. Keep him out.

Jesus only hung out with those people because Christianity hadn't been invented yet. If HE came back today he'd be in the company of straight white Christian families in the United States with Bible verses stenciled on the walls of their suburban homes drinking iced sweet tea. HE would appear on a road tour of megachurches and blast the poors and other hell-bound sinners for not being praying hard enough to be in GOD's good graces. HE would go on the 700 Club, if that's still a thing.

by Anonymousreply 12August 15, 2023 3:40 PM

I beg atheists to not quote the Bible in arguments with Christians!

by Anonymousreply 13August 15, 2023 3:45 PM

R13 Why are you restricting speech and ideas?

by Anonymousreply 14August 15, 2023 9:07 PM

Wanna make a christofascist’s head explode?

Tell them Jesus was “woke.”

by Anonymousreply 15August 15, 2023 9:18 PM
R8: Seriously? How can you be a xtian and NOT believe in Jesus C H R I S T. It's literally in the name.

'Christ' isn't a name, but a title or descriptor meaning 'anointed.' Jesus/Joshua means 'savior.' 'Anointed Savior.'

Thomas Brodie, a Dominican priest, does not believe in a literal Jesus.

I was in a situation a few years ago where I had to sit through a few evangelical sermons, and I was shocked. The preachers literally told people that God hated them for being disgusting sinners and was on the verge of smiting each of them down any minute. And these preachers weren't from some fringe snake handling sect; these were students from the Southern Baptist Seminary.

R17, Southern Baptists might be one of the largest evangelical denominations, but they very much have a fringe mentality.

by Anonymousreply 19August 16, 2023 2:47 AM

islam should take over white america, it's much more compatible with modern reactionary ideas.

by Anonymousreply 20August 16, 2023 3:04 AM

Jesus his own “talking points” are tiresome. “Movement level” “soul of evangelicism”

by Anonymousreply 21August 16, 2023 3:55 AM

What does Dory know

by Anonymousreply 22August 16, 2023 3:57 AM

American Christianity = everyone has to suffer, even if it’s unwarranted

by Anonymousreply 23August 16, 2023 4:21 AM

R13 You can say whatever you like, we won't tell you what's off limits. You do not own the words in your silly book. I was raised in your church, you arrogant cunt.

by Anonymousreply 24August 16, 2023 2:05 PM

People tend to believe in Gods that are a reflection of themselves. That’s why Evangelicals believe in a God who is a total asshole.

by Anonymousreply 25August 16, 2023 2:25 PM
I beg atheists to not quote the Bible in arguments with Christians!

Why? Most atheists know more about the Bible than most Christians. Simply, atheists read [italic]all[/italic] the words.

by Anonymousreply 26August 16, 2023 2:29 PM

All you need to know is that evangelicals think of God like they do of Trump. He must be worshipped or they will be thrown into a lake of fire. Only He can fix things. He’s a narcissistic lunatic.

by Anonymousreply 27August 16, 2023 2:55 PM

Trump has replaced Jesus for Evangelicals.

by Anonymousreply 28August 16, 2023 4:39 PM

R13 why? Most atheists know more about the Bible than Christians do.

by Anonymousreply 29August 16, 2023 4:43 PM

Evo's want your money, period.

by Anonymousreply 30August 16, 2023 4:47 PM

r24

You misread. I'm not religious.

r26 r29

It's not remotely about knowing the Bible "better" than a Christian. It's about the fact that when you argue over what words in the Bible mean, you're doing nothing but lending it underserved credence. Who cares what it says? And "well, actually, the Bible says blah blah blah and here's why you're a bad Christian" coming from a self-professed non-Christian is just not ever going to be a winning tactic.

by Anonymousreply 31August 17, 2023 2:48 AM

Evangelicals are the meanest, most judgemental, and bitchiest group of people in America.

And are always begging you to "come worship" with them. Come to their potluck. Come get your car washed by their parishioners. And (of course) donate money to their fundraiser.

Fuck off cunts. You don't get to be hateful to everyone and tell me I'm going to hell for who I love and how I was born then ask me for money, so you can buy new carpet for the alter in your church where your pastor will spread lies and molest kids.

by Anonymousreply 32August 17, 2023 11:00 AM

Cheeto Jesus is their Jesus, now. Dump should write his own Bible.

by Anonymousreply 33August 17, 2023 11:08 AM

R31 I don't give a fuck about 'winning' Xtians over. Their minds are shut. They hate my 'sin'. I will say what I want.

by Anonymousreply 34August 17, 2023 1:50 PM

One of the issues with Christianity is that it can be molded to fit whichever community it finds its way into, usually by the community itself over time. There are very few guidelines and rules and traditions when compared to other religions and even Catholicism, so things can be 'customized' to make the community feel good rather than make them follow rules. Basically, modern Christianity seems to tell parishoners what they want to hear vs what they maybe need to hear.

by Anonymousreply 35August 17, 2023 2:08 PM

R3 yes. And they never learn any Hebrew translation of the Bible at all. If they do it’s translated by an evangelical. Major stuff they leave out-

the healing of a gay Centurians rent boy.

His only female disciple was a known prostitute and she was the first person to recognize him after he rose from the dead

Jesus was Jewish and a person isn’t considered as a religious Jewish person unless they are compassionate (chesed) and without compassion the entire universe becomes unbalanced, also the warning against the concept of being a pious fool or religious fanatic so people don’t die for the sake of religion, but contrastingly there is a positive commandment to only do actions to live for the sake of religion, and how lashon hora (speaking private details about others whether good or bad to destroy their reputation) is a death penalty as well as Motzi Shem ra which is malicious damaging lies and gossip. The soul of a baby doesn’t go in until it takes a breath after birth (ruach) and before that it’s equivalent to an animal soul when the heart starts beating. Because the baby doesn’t come out the normal way and take that massive breath of life after a cesarean, the kid isn’t considered as being officially born.
when you argue over what words in the Bible mean, you're doing nothing but lending it underserved credence.

I wholeheartedly disagree. The only way to fight religious nuts is to use their religion against them — fighting fire with fire. You cannot persuade them with logic, facts and reason and if you avoid talking about the Bible, specifically the version that they read, you miss your greatest opportunity to reach them where they live.
