He also looks strung out as fuck.
Zachary Levi continues to bite hands that feeds him

Oh he's one to talk. He starred in the Shazam movies.

Is he the Jew version of Jim Cavezial?
What happened?

He's not Jewish. He just has a typically Jewish name and looks Jewish.

[quote] "How many times do you watch a trailer and go, 'Oh my god, this looks so cool!' Then you go to the movie and it's like, 'This was what I get?'" Levi continued. "They know that once you've already bought the ticket and you're in the seat, they've got your money.
He’s exactly right, but Hollywood people are going to hate anyone saying it aloud.

He's not Jewish. His last name is "Pugh," and "Levi" is his middle name. He's from Louisiana and is mostly of English, Scottish, and Irish descent.

[quote] Who decides what is good? Sure, 86 percent of audiences may have liked Shazam 2, but that's 86 percent of a relatively small group of people who probably wanted to see Shazam 2 in the first place.
What the author of the article is deliberately ignoring is that 86% is from people who actually saw the movie, and so would be the people who know best whether the movie is good or not. However, their question is valid. Who decides what is “good”? Elitist critics or movie viewers?

Elitist critics.

I'm slightly more hopeful for Hollywood's direction after the last few months. Since audiences have rejected garbage like Mission Impossible (whatever number they're at now) and Shazam but went out and watched Barbie and Oppenheimer en masse. Maybe they'll go in a better direction than they did in the last decade. Probably won't going by that Lena Dunham Polly Pocket movie but I've got to hope.

There was a Shazam 1?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 14, 2023 10:56 AM |
He’s probably whining about Barbie. People likely didn’t go see Shazam because the movie market is saturated with these CGI-laden comic book movies, and because Levi’s got an obnoxious personality.

Movies are terrible now. They’re also too long and too expensive. Look at Indiana Jones. The first movies were under 2 hours. The latest one is over 2.5. Who wants to spend $18 to sit there for that long for something totally mediocre?

[quote] "I personally feel like the amount of content that comes out of Hollywood that is garbage — they don't care enough to actually make it great for you guys. They don't," Levi said to enthusiastic applause.
[quote] "How many times do you watch a trailer and go, 'Oh my god, this looks so cool!' Then you go to the movie and it's like, 'This was what I get?'" Levi continued. "They know that once you've already bought the ticket and you're in the seat, they've got your money. And the only way for us to change any of it is to not go to the garbage. We have to actively not choose the garbage. It'll help. It'll help a lot."
He's absolutely correct about this.
And in regards to that shitty Barbie movie, he should have called it out by name as being the biggest pile of crap on top of a huge CRAP HEAP.

Maybe people don't like superhero movies where the "superhero" has to wear obvious rubber muscles.

[quote] “At this point, the only thing that makes money is garbage. It’s just fascinating. It makes a fortune, and that’s the bottom line,” Kaufman said. “It’s very seductive to the studios but also to the people who engage and become the makers of that garbage, especially if they’re lauded for the garbage because they don’t have to look inward or think long about what they’re doing.”

I liked him in the TV show “Chuck” years ago. Stupid, mindless fun. Haven’t seen the second Shazam movie, but the first one was awful and I’m surprised #2 was greenlit.
