Busted! Elon Musk and Peter Thiel caught supporting a white supremacist

He also "teaches" at Bari Weiss's "university"

by Anonymousreply 1August 4, 2023 8:11 PM

He's good people!

by Anonymousreply 2August 4, 2023 8:18 PM

More and more and more, the alt-right (which is really a polite term for neo-nazis and klansmen) is becoming the Right. They are all, bit by bit, being mainstreamed into the Republican Party. I suspect every Republican Senator and Congressman has at least one neo-Nazi on staff at this point.

by Anonymousreply 3August 4, 2023 9:27 PM

Conservatives won't care because THIS is who they are.

THIS GUY right here.

If they weren't, they would leave that party and refuse to vote Republican until every last of these scumbags were run out of their party.

But, they stay. They stay, because THIS --along with the treasonweasels, the churchpedos, the misogynists, the homophobes, the antisemitics, and the cousinfucker domestic terrorists -- is who they are.

by Anonymousreply 4August 4, 2023 9:41 PM

He also has ties to Chris Rufo and Bari Weiss. No surprise

by Anonymousreply 5August 4, 2023 10:09 PM

Elon likes and retweets a lot of his posts

by Anonymousreply 6August 4, 2023 10:25 PM

University of Austin? WTF is this?

by Anonymousreply 7August 4, 2023 10:35 PM

No one cares, though - that's the thing. There's no "outrage" other than the sane good people who were already outraged. None of this changes a single thing. Trump, Musk, etc. could rape a kitten on stage, and not a single one of their supporters would change their minds - they'd justify it.

by Anonymousreply 8August 4, 2023 10:37 PM

R7, it is Bari Weiss's fake university

by Anonymousreply 9August 4, 2023 10:47 PM

The main reason people are still so horny for an obvious piece of shit, an undeniably terrible and awful person like Trump, is that he gave them permission to be racist. Liking Trump is a dog whistle for "I'm down with racism".

R10, true

by Anonymousreply 11August 5, 2023 12:38 AM

I’m just…exhausted. As a black man just trying to negotiate my way through this world like everybody else, I can barely summon up the energy to fight anymore. I’ve been fighting and marching and talking and campaigning and strategizing my entire life. I’m TIRED. These people keep crawling out from under a rock and continually keep being given a platform to spread their poison and their lies and their hatred. And they never really go away. They just change their byline. And sometimes their costume. My soul dies just a little bit more every time I read an article like this.

by Anonymousreply 12August 5, 2023 4:37 AM

He probably posts on DL. I noticed quite a few similarities between his pet themes and the late night wackadoodle posts that often creep in after a certain hour on DL.

by Anonymousreply 13August 5, 2023 9:50 AM

R13, I wouldn't be shocked

by Anonymousreply 14August 5, 2023 6:06 PM

This is the "think tank" that is influencing the Republican party.

by Anonymousreply 17August 5, 2023 9:07 PM

There's no time to be weary. Our ancestors, our parents even, had it much worse and they persevered. It only feels like there's more hatred because of all the internet and social media channels that allow every traumatized nitwit with wifi to broadcast their innermost psychosis, often with anonymity. The racist messaging today seeks to erase America's original sin from our collective history, and suggest that Blacks themselves are somehow inherently responsible for the racism that continues to plague America today. That is a false narrative and we can't allow it. Our work is far from done.

by Anonymousreply 19August 5, 2023 9:29 PM

He picks on black and Latino people for being "low IQ" but he wasn't smart enough to successfully hide his racist sock puppet accounts

This POS has just released an article on Twitter titled Why I Used To Suck or some such drivel. The worst mea culpa-if he even means it as one-I’ve ever read. I mean they always do. Prompted by his high-profile friends maybe? He meant every word back then. And he still feels EXACTLY the same way.. Once a Nazi always a Nazi. Go to hell you fascist trash bag. And take Musk and Thiel with you!

by Anonymousreply 33August 6, 2023 8:37 PM

Thank you, OP. This article got by me. The only reason I finally read it was because of your thread.

Menluvinguy/R13, you mean like that clueless “pastaboi” ? He is/was always posting stories from that Zerohedge propaganda site. Does Hanananania repost their shit?

by Anonymousreply 39August 7, 2023 4:54 AM

Wasn’t all of this like 10 years ago when he was in his late teens, early 20s? Give the guy a break, we all go through stupid phases when we’re younger.

by Anonymousreply 40August 7, 2023 5:32 AM

He was like 25, r40. Were you a white supremacist at age 25?

He's still posting racist shit, he hasn't turned into a good person

by Anonymousreply 41August 7, 2023 5:36 AM

Example, R41?

When I was in my teens, I was a Scientologist.

I got into Law of Attraction stuff when I was in my 20s.

People tend to get caught up in ideologies when they are younger and then grow out of it.

by Anonymousreply 42August 7, 2023 5:43 AM

Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future, as Oscar Wilde said.

Here Richard writes about his journey out of extremism.

by Anonymousreply 43August 7, 2023 5:45 AM

“My initial instinct was to either ignore the story or simply denounce the source and its methods. The journalist behind the piece is a supporter of antifa, and in the days before publishing his article he reached out to everyone he could think of to try and get them to cut ties with me. Sensing what was going on, nobody took the bait. He’s now leading a mob on Twitter and telling people to watch for the “fallout,” while tagging those in a position to hurt my career.”

You know who behaves like that? The Church of Scientology. You do something to cross them, they try to take you down and get everyone to disconnect from you.

by Anonymousreply 44August 7, 2023 5:47 AM

“I think he and his followers will continue to be disappointed. People know that what I think is reflected in my corpus of work over the last several years, rather than embarrassing takes in my early 20s about the 2008 election. Fifteen years is long enough to graduate junior high, go through all of high school and college, earn a PhD, and get a third of the way towards being a tenured professor. If that’s not a long enough time to be beyond the statute of limitations for holding repugnant views one later renounces, then there’s really no hope for us ever moving beyond cancel culture.

“Even five years ago, the media could set the narrative, tell people what was important, and how they should react to any particular story. We appear to be moving past the worst of the cancellation trend. Most outside of a certain echo chamber realize this kind of reporting is contemptible. The goal is not to engage with ideas, but to simply silence a person and remove them from polite company. To not have to discuss their ideas on account of other ideas they put forward at a different time of their life and which they may no longer even believe in.”

by Anonymousreply 45August 7, 2023 5:51 AM

R42 You think being a white supremacist is some kind of growing up stage at age 25? WTF?

by Anonymousreply 46August 7, 2023 6:07 AM

R46, no, I think going to any extreme ideology is not common in your early 20s.

by Anonymousreply 47August 7, 2023 6:09 AM

Except he's still a far right wingnut. He hasn't changed

by Anonymousreply 48August 7, 2023 6:10 AM

I’ve made MANY mistakes in my youth.

Being a white supremacist shit bag wasn’t one of them.

And while I’m not white, there are some non white, people of color who support white supremacy.

I’m not saying people cannot grow & change, because they certainly can and do. What I am saying or asking, to be exact, is what the fuck was happening in your life to lean into something so vile?

He needs to explain it, rather than claiming, “I’ve changed.”

And by the looks of it, it appears he has made adjustments, rather than truly recognizing the error in his thinking & making comprehensive changes.

by Anonymousreply 49August 7, 2023 6:26 AM

R49, for all the non-whites that support white supremacy, at least white supremacy is full of racial diversity and inclusion.

by Anonymousreply 50August 7, 2023 6:38 AM

R50?

Sure, Jan. 🤡

by Anonymousreply 51August 7, 2023 7:00 AM

R48 is an example of the creeping rhetoric on the Left that "White Supremacy" has many adherents who are Jewish and people of color. White Supremacy sounds pretty diverse! Perhaps other movements can learn how to recruit a diverse following from them.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 52August 7, 2023 7:07 AM

R49 This! THIS. A thousand times this. Thank you.

This man was a grown ass adult when he wrote these incredibly disgusting viewpoints. He wasn’t 12. Views that are/were hate-filled and dangerous and destructive to any civilized society. And to top it off, he wrote them behind the anonymity of a computer. Which makes him a coward as well.

And regardless of how he’s trying to spin it now, I don’t buy for one SECOND that’s he’s actually changed. He’s trying to force us to eat the same old racist shit-sandwich buy adding some strong spices to mask the taste. Like Richard Spencer with his expensive haircut and even-toned speaking style and 3 piece suit. Doesn’t mean he’s not still The Klan. Or should I say the better, nicer, newly-improved Klan?

As a black man I’m tired of again and again and AGAIN being expected to look past, or “give a second chance” to”,or tolerate, or forgive, or whatever the fuck you apologists out there want from us now. My right to just exist unburdened by white supremacy is not the equivalent to this asshats right to espouse about my innate inferiority in the New York Times or anywhere else. A wiser person than me said when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

by Anonymousreply 53August 7, 2023 7:07 AM

R52 I sure you have a point somewhere in there. An asinine one, but a point nonetheless. If you or your Twitter link are saying that every movement has its tokens, then bully for you! Or maybe you have some numbers to back up your claim of “many adherents”?

Yeah, when I look at the footage of those that stormed the Capitol, or the average Magat rally, I’m just overwhelmed by the diversity!

by Anonymousreply 54August 7, 2023 7:30 AM

Being wealthy and right wing/conservative goes hand in hand, because they want to protect their money first and foremost.

by Anonymousreply 55August 7, 2023 9:41 AM

I had no idea he was a racist! I only wrote that book blurb because he gave me a hand job

by Anonymousreply 56August 7, 2023 5:35 PM

Being a racist is not as bad as being a rapist or child molester.

R53, he’s still a critic of disparate impact theory. Honestly, I think if we got rid of disparate impact legal remedies, and allow the chips to fall where they may, there would be less resentment and less racial animus against black people.

by Anonymousreply 57August 8, 2023 4:05 AM

What R8 states is factual.

What a world we live in.

by Anonymousreply 58August 8, 2023 4:38 AM

"Being a racist is not as bad as being a rapist or child molester."

Setting the bar pretty low there. Elon and Peter were Epstein associates so they apparently don't have a problem with a child molesting rapist, either

by Anonymousreply 59August 8, 2023 5:13 AM

Espousing white supremacy is wrong. Not because it’s not true, but because it makes non-whites feel bad about themselves.

by Anonymousreply 60August 8, 2023 6:34 AM

Peter should "exercise the diversity demon" in bed with a well-hung black man

by Anonymousreply 61August 8, 2023 1:16 PM

by Anonymousreply 63August 8, 2023 2:32 PM

R63, anyone who was paying attention did

by Anonymousreply 64August 8, 2023 4:07 PM

There’s no doubt in my mind that Musk is a white supremacist. You can see that from space. He is a very dangerous man IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 65August 8, 2023 8:57 PM

^ true

by Anonymousreply 66August 8, 2023 9:50 PM

Define white supremacy, don’t throw it around in such a promiscuous way.

by Anonymousreply 67August 9, 2023 6:44 AM

I don’t think Elon Musk is a white supramacist, meaning, I don’t think it is his goal to codify into law a racial caste system or for non-whites to be legally relegated to second class citizens. I think he’d rather just let the chips fall where they may without having to worry about proportional group representation.

by Anonymousreply 68August 9, 2023 6:48 AM

^ Well, he's be letting white supremacists back on twitter while censoring people who aren't...

by Anonymousreply 69August 9, 2023 5:22 PM

Right R69, Alex Jones may be a lot of things, but at least he’s not a white supremacist.

Isn’t the Kremlin just as evil as a white supremacist? Why isn’t the Kremlin banned from Twitter, even before Elon Musk took over? Why are you only concerned about “white supremacists”?

White supremacists, racists and transphobes, oh my!! White supremacists, racists and transphobes, oh my!! White supremacists, racists and transphobes, oh my!! White supremacists, racists and transphobes, oh my!!

by Anonymousreply 70August 10, 2023 4:52 AM

R70 sounds like a butthurt racist

by Anonymousreply 71August 10, 2023 6:02 PM

Elon is just openly following white supremacist accounts now

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 72August 10, 2023 9:58 PM

R72, stop calling those accounts “white supremacists.” Nothing about those posts show that whites are the supreme race, and the more taboo you make something, the more people will want to break the taboos.

It’s like, at this point, the cat is out of the bag — a large part of the differences in black and white academic performance is not economic or financial related. At some point, we need to stop blaming external factors like phantom racism and unconscious bias for disparate group outcomes.

Stop blaming “white supremacists” for blacks poor performance and start blaming rappers like Cardi B, Travis Scott and Tory Lanez that perpetuate the culture of black inferiority.

by Anonymousreply 73August 11, 2023 7:33 AM

The day that black opera singers becomes mainstream among black people is the day blacks perform just as well as whites,

by Anonymousreply 74August 11, 2023 7:38 AM

[quote] ,

by Anonymousreply 75August 11, 2023 11:15 AM

The founding fathers never thought that all those rights they wrote into our Constitution would eventually turn this country into what it's become today. I've said for a long time the Constitution gives us too many rights and the biggest is the so-called "freedom of speech". The Constitution gives us the right to pretty much be as racist and bigoted as we want with our words, which often incites racial hatred and violence. That's the first human right that should be adjusted. It emboldens these lunatics.

by Anonymousreply 76August 11, 2023 11:25 AM

R73 is a white supremacist. You attack Cardi fucking B but not Donald Trump and the low IQ, uneducated whites who voted for him.

by Anonymousreply 77August 11, 2023 1:29 PM

[quote] The day that black opera singers becomes mainstream among black people is the day blacks perform just as well as whites,

They're about as mainstream as white opera singers among white people.

What world are you living in?

by Anonymousreply 78August 11, 2023 3:56 PM

^ Exactly. Maybe .00001% of whites are really into opera

by Anonymousreply 79August 11, 2023 4:04 PM

[quote] Being a racist is not as bad as being a rapist or child molester.

It all comes from the same place. Racists, rapists and molesters were likely abused, bullied and molested, and engaging in an agenda and/or actions that they believe validates their dominance over another is the way a fragmented psyche deals with trauma.

by Anonymousreply 80August 11, 2023 5:14 PM

R73, if you are serious about your beliefs -- and are OK with people who cite the academic merit of "Mein Kampf" -- you should read "The 1619 Project." I mean, if you genuinely believe that white supremacy is not the root of all social ills it would help to familiarize yourself with the other side of the issue before you dismiss it.

by Anonymousreply 81August 11, 2023 5:29 PM

R81, isn’t 1619 Project basically revisionist history that falsely claims that slavery was the motivation for the Revolutionary War?

by Anonymousreply 82August 15, 2023 7:33 AM

I’m not a white supremicist, it’s just that blacks are genetically inferior.

by Anonymousreply 83August 15, 2023 8:01 AM

R83, what do you mean by “inferior”? If Asians are, on average, shorter than white people, does that make them “inferior”?

Intelligence is just one of MANY attributes that can be measured. Unfortunately, we do live in an economy where it counts for a lot when it comes to competition and succeeding,

by Anonymousreply 84August 15, 2023 8:45 AM

If we just go by percentages relative to population size, black people are superior dancers, musicians, actors, and athletes than white people or asian people. Since there is no biological basis for the term race (skin color is just a tiny percentage of the DNA that human beings carry and all "races" can and do mate and procreate with fertile offspring) these blanket statements are stupid. People should not be compared to other people using race as their sole metric, but simply to other people who face the same circumstances. However, in this country, due to their skin color and hair texture, which differentiate them from the one-time dominant white culture, black people have historically been pushed down, over and over and over again, (not just some, but ALL), so their disadvantages are more or less uniform and should be taken into account when talking about possible remedies.

by Anonymousreply 85August 15, 2023 9:43 AM

I disagree that black people are superior musicians and dancers. They might be superior at hip hop and R&B, but I would not say they were superior at music in general.

by Anonymousreply 86August 15, 2023 5:40 PM

Are you fucking kidding me? Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Coleman Young, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Wynton Marsalis, Ella FItsgerald, Sarah Vaugh, Thelonius Monk, Duke Ellington, Leon Bates, Awadagin Pratt, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Leontyne Price, Grace Brumby, Paul Robeson, and that's not even scratching the surface for outstanding musicians across a whole range of genres.

Dance- Gregory Hynes, Judith Jameson, Alvin Ailey, Desmond Richardson, Arthur Mitchell, Pearl Primus, Katherine Dunham, Misty Copeland, Michael Jackson, Mary Hinkson, Ben Vereen, the entire companies of the Alvin Ailey Repertory Theater and Dance Theater of Harlem, the cast of the Lion King, the cast of Hamilton, Carolyn Adams, Camille Brown, and hundreds of others.

How could you not know this? Rap and R&B? Really?

by Anonymousreply 87August 16, 2023 7:06 AM

Pre-1960s 20th century music (and the dominant role that black people played) is completely foreign to most people these days

by Anonymousreply 88August 16, 2023 7:15 AM

True, but people know Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Lizzo, Janet Jackson and a whole lot of other black singers of the past 30 years.

by Anonymousreply 89August 16, 2023 7:27 AM
