Can we give the mother of Al Pacino’s twins her flowers? She was never an A-list leading lady but she certainly has an impressive list of credits, and she’s worked extensively with supposed grade-A asshole Chevy Chase enough that she must have some juicy stories. Plus, with her deep chain smoker’s voice and the vivacious personality she exhibits via social media, you just know she’d be a good time to hang out with.
She should’ve had an Oscar for coal miners daughter

^Agreed.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 22, 2023 9:19 PM |
She started as a cartoonist, then became an actress and she can also sing. Triple threat!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 22, 2023 9:20 PM |
She’s a real character. Seems like lots of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 22, 2023 9:21 PM |
R1, R2, right before opening the thread and seeing your comments I went to look at IMDb because I was SURE she had been nominated for that, but she wasn’t!!
We should have an Oscar’s All-Stars contest like Drag Race to nominate and award folks that either weren’t nominated or were and should’ve won but didn’t.
If they let Rupaul host it, it’ll get higher ratings than the regular Oscars, so it’s win-win.

Her Instagram is fun- She is a great lady
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 22, 2023 9:42 PM |
She’s good in the new True Lies tv series.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 22, 2023 9:43 PM |
I’m a gold star gay & my breath was taken away by the first shot of her in Hair. And her Patsy Cline? So damn sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 22, 2023 9:53 PM |
Yes, I loved her appearance in Coal Miners Daughter. She could have out acted Jessica Lange if she had played Patsy Cline.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 22, 2023 10:15 PM |
Also came to say her Insta is fun. She seems to have interesting friends. She was at Buck Henry's bedside when he died, for instance.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 22, 2023 10:48 PM |
When they interviewed her on Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast she was a hoot. Great stories.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 22, 2023 11:25 PM |
Blocking the fake gay who is sexually attracted to Beverly.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 22, 2023 11:26 PM |
I read somewhere (Movieline, I think) that many of her scenes in Coal Miner’s Daughter were edited out, and if they had bern kept in the film, she would have been nominated with Sissy for Lead Actress.

My husband bought me a Cameo birthday greeting from Beverly several years ago. She was very nice, eager, and pretty. She seemed authentic.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 22, 2023 11:43 PM |
I loved when she was vigorously masturbating in front of Cristina Raines in The Sentinel. It’s a shame Raines was such a terrible actres.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 22, 2023 11:44 PM |
LOVE her.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 22, 2023 11:50 PM |
Always found her attractive
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 22, 2023 11:55 PM |
I think she had work done to decrease her legendary overbite.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 23, 2023 12:00 AM |
Love her. She was so good in those Vacation movies and played her role straight, never winking at the camera. I loved the scene where she and Chevy sing "Mockingbird." Hilarious.
She was awesome in Coal Miner's Daughter. Both she and Sissy Spacek have singing chops.
The only weird thing was getting involved with Al Pacino and having twins.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 23, 2023 12:08 AM |
Very slutty, Used to do threesomes with Richard Pryor and his wife.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 23, 2023 12:12 AM |
I know this was a joke. But this caught something very country and very human.
She’s great.

I remember my parents agreed to let pubescent me watch "Vacation" on VHS with them -- they had already seen it in the theater -- but insisted on fast-forwarding through the part where Beverly shows her tits. Of course I couldn't have cared less, I was too busy wishing Anthony Michael Hall would take his shirt off.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 23, 2023 12:23 AM |
R21 - Agreed. And quite nice tits too.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 23, 2023 12:44 AM |
Maybe I’m misremembering, but could have sworn there was a thread here not all that long ago claiming she was hard to work with.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 23, 2023 12:50 AM |
I don’t care if she’s hard to work with.
In this case, the juice is worth the squeeze.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 23, 2023 12:53 AM |
I wasn't aware she was hard to work with but I know Chevy was and they must get along as they are always doing things together since the first Vacation.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 23, 2023 1:01 AM |
She plays a great trumpet
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 23, 2023 1:08 AM |
She and Al Pacino remain close. Sounds like they spend a lot of time together.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 23, 2023 1:09 AM |
She would have been good, better than Meryl, in Postcards From the Edge.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 23, 2023 2:19 AM |
R26 Gotta love parents. I’m sure the scene where Audrey was on the seesaw with Cousin Vicki (Jane Krakowski) and she tells Audrey her that her father (Randy Quaid) said she was the best French kisser went over their heads.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 23, 2023 4:47 AM |
I saw her in the early 70s in Gower Champions musical Rockabye Hamlet and she played Ophelia. She killed herself by strangling herself with a microphone cord.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 23, 2023 5:13 AM |
Her debutante look in Hair was to die for
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 23, 2023 5:22 AM |
I seem to recall reading D'Angelo was hurt when she didn't get to portray Patsy Cline in Sweet Dreams. Does anyone know if she auditioned for Sweet Dreams and was turned down or was Jessica Lange always attached to star? Both films had the same producer so it seems like it would have been natural to cast D'Angelo again.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 23, 2023 12:20 PM |
R37 I remember this, too. Everyone was blown away by Beverly in CMD. Moviegoers wanted her to get an Oscar nomination and wanted to see more of her as Patsy…and evolve to big dramatic roles but none of that happened and she never ascended to more than B minus list. I do not know if she auditioned for Sweet Dreams but Jessica was hitting her heights at that time. Also, by 5 years (CMD to Sweet Dreams) the Patsy buzz had faded for Beverly.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 23, 2023 8:13 PM |
She had a great rack. Maybe still does?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 24, 2023 2:06 PM |
I loved her as an abusive mother in a totally forgotten movie she made with Eric Roberts and Johnny Depp in the late 80’s called Slow Burn. I was very affected by it at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 24, 2023 4:21 PM |
She's 71 and still eerily beautiful. She played the evil fairy in Shelly Duvall's imagining of "Sleeping Beauty" full tilt-- creepy as hell.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 25, 2023 5:38 PM |
Before the famous strangulation in Rockabye Hamlet.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 25, 2023 6:07 PM |
It's not that she's hard to work with, it's more that she's kind of unhinged. Can be very pleasant and charming, but then the slightest thing can send her off into weirdness. Kind of another version of Carol Kane, but not as consistently kooky.
I met her when she was just starting out and she was strikingly beautiful, much more so than she appears in films. The camera didn't do her justice.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 25, 2023 6:11 PM |
She and Amy Poehler could play mother and daughter.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 25, 2023 7:43 PM |
On Gilbert's podcast, she said that although Chevy Chase was a notorious prick to everyone, he was always nice to her and she has nothing but fond memories of him.
She also tells the story of working in Toronto titty bar (as a singer, not as a dancer), and working the "Commune Circuit" of Western Canada at the tail end of the hippie era.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 25, 2023 8:16 PM |
R44 I love her but she’s a mood ring-ish / “I was in my 20s in the 1970s”-type B/C actress. Kind of like Sarandon should have been. Where does Beverly fall on the Susan Tyrell scale?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 26, 2023 12:41 AM |
r4, "Mein Fuhrer" is only for when a similar (and TIMELY) topic has JUST been posted earlier within the last week or so.
You seriously cannot expect other Dataloungers never to repeat any topics ever. That's obnoxiously controlling, Aspie-like behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 26, 2023 12:45 AM |
How quaint a notion.

R15 Thanks for letting us know

The structural power of her face, with her saucer eyes and sleek nose, recalls Joan Crawford when young--peak-gorgeous Crawford of the 1930s. I always hoped she would star in a biopic about JC, but alas, we ended up with Faye, all tight-assed face and way past her prime.
Also love D'Angelo's overbite, which is strangely beautiful, the way Gene Tierney's was. I'm glad she didn't try to fix it.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 26, 2023 1:52 AM |
R51 here again. Unfortunately, I see she's been getting a little overzealous with the surgery.....
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 26, 2023 1:56 AM |
I love a good overbite, I thought Rosanna Arquette was the epitome of beauty in the 1980s, though I was also a ten year old gay boy, so there you go...
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 26, 2023 2:44 AM |
Slow Burn. Eric Roberts was so cute back then. And Johnny Depp isn't even featured in the trailer.
