This new country singer Lainey Wilson talks like she was raised out by the lake with Nell. Her voice is so put-on and fake. She also sings lots of lifestyle country songs, about moonshine and trucks. How is is possible to be raised with Facebook and MTV and still talk like a character off Andy Griffith?
Being a country fan I've always wondered about this. People in various parts of the south have accents but not as thick as way back when people were more isolated. Reba is probably the worst offender at this even though I like her. It's a coding of sort to play it up I think.
