Why do people hate the Beckham family?

People on the internet hate everyone.

Smug, tryhard nepo family.

Nouveau rich, minimally talented, overrated famewhores desperate to keep the money train rolling by trying to make their dull, homely, non-talented children - who no one gives a fuck about - happen.

They are a bit insufferable.

Victoria starves herself, had ridiculously oversized implants for a long time, pulls the same stupid pose when appearing, well, anywhere, had a KAREN haircut for quite a while and runs a fashion label that loses millions each year.

David is covered in hideous tatts, some boasting incorrect spelling, and really took the different hairstyles too seriously when he did play soccer, probably to detract from the work he had done to his face.

They are both famewhores. Major, mega famewhores.

They did well for themselves in their respective careers, certainly no one likes that in the UK as only the underdog is supported until they do okay then it's the national sport to knock them down for having done well. Rinse and repeat, pretty tiring but it sells copy.

Oh, and of course as R6 has so eloquently highlighted, class, they're both common as muck and from Essex with a lovely estuary twang. You need to sound like Boris Johnson and then people will give you the shirt off their back whilst you nick their wallet and be loved as a cheeky rascal.

I was surprised how doughy Brooklyn was in some recent shirtless pictures. Surely the rich wife could afford to get him a personal trainer, and he could start posting some getting-in-shape videos.

Both David and Victoria had their fun sides and their charm when they were very young and coming up in fame. It soon curdled into desperate famewhoring which was very off-putting. I don't think people bother to hate them, however.

The British hate social climbers more than anything.

I can sort of see the Kardashian comparison, since there's the genuinely talented athlete father and the social climbing celebrity mother with their tawdry raft of useless children getting on magazine covers. But I could never hate them as much as I hate the Kardashians, who really are the grossest people. It's like the plot of Ponk Flamingos, they're fighting over being the filthiest people alive! The Kardashians would definitely send a bowel movement through the postal service.

R14 LOL. I love the John Waters reference. I think even he would have to admit that both families are more lacking in good taste than he or any of his characters.

Let us count tbe ways. Relentless image branding of the cozy family while madly cheating. Hot miced cursing about not getting royal honors. Thee worst breast bolt-ons and tattoos in the world. Overpriced pedestrian clothes and makeup. General sucking up for clout. Those children.

They gave their kids unbelievably try-hard names.

David Beckham is the only one in the family who had genuine talent, and he aged out of that decades ago. So they're really feeding off his fame in the 90s and on Victoria's fame as the least talented member of a cheesy pop group. They are complete chavs and so have horrible taste, and the children have no talent and are no better in terms of taste.

I don’t hate them but they are just easy targets to ridicule. A very rich but no longer particularly attractive family. Actually, David is still big in the soccer world as an owner and promoter but the rest don’t do much interesting.
