[quote] German tenor Jonas Kaufmann
This is an old picture. Kaufmann has been seriously packing the pounds in the past few years, and looks much older now.

My future husband, Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński.

Peter Barber, a young American bass with a body of steel. He has a YouTube reaction channel.

R10 - EWWWWW! He looks like a Young Republican.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 16, 2023 9:23 AM |
Oh my God, Ryan McKinny's stunning. And directors know to make the most of featuring him shirtless on stage. Bring your opera glasses, ladies.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 16, 2023 9:29 AM |
Oh yes R12, I saw McKinny on stage as Amfortas in Parsifal at the Bayreuth festival a few years ago, and when he appeared on sage only wearing white briefs, I can guarantee you more than a few hearts started beating much faster in the audience 😆

Are any of these talented individuals known homosexuals?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 16, 2023 10:05 AM |
He's 60 now, but until a few years ago, Argentinean tenor José Cura was rather spectacular.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 16, 2023 11:18 AM |
Phillippe Jordan. Not that super hot but he supposedly has a schwanzstucker the length of his baton. And he is gay,

Polish composer, conductor and pianist Adam Sztaba.

R15 -- Perhaps...

Gay classical-crossover quarter Well-Strung has a couple beaux that I’d like to rosin up…

I nominate French cellist extraordinaire Gautier Capuçon who is as good looking close up as he is from afar!
I saw him from 20' away as he performed last year during his North American concert tour.
His baritone voice alone sends me!
Ooh la la!

Turkish-British countertenor Cenk Karaferya. Short, but extremely muscular and so handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 16, 2023 4:26 PM |
Who dat, R15?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 16, 2023 8:30 PM |
R27 Ned Rorem died late last year. But he was certainly handsome. In a telephone conversation with a potential hookup, Rorem agreed to meet the guy at a particular public spot in Paris. When asked how he would recognize him, Rorem responded, “I’m beautiful.”

^ His wife is very pretty, their house must be filled with music
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 16, 2023 11:24 PM |
I've long wondered whether Lorenzo and Andreas are more than just friends.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 17, 2023 2:26 AM |
He's no longer a young stud, but baritone Nathan Gunn was the first classical musician I noticed... how could I not with a pec deck like this... I think he's moved into "Daddy" territory.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 17, 2023 9:08 AM |
Good one, R35. He's the definition of a sexy Daddy these days, yes.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 17, 2023 9:19 AM |
R24, who are those two?

Redhead at R24 = R6, one presumes.

No one can hold a candle to Andreas Ottensamer. I've been following him for several years. He and Viotti are definitely "close", and never a female in any of his IG posts, just lots of hot young men.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 17, 2023 10:58 AM |
Age is catching up with him but Philippe Jaroussky is still one of the most stunning men who ever walked the earth.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 17, 2023 11:01 AM |
Andreas Ottensamer has a wife/girlfriend, r41, or at least did a couple of years ago. He just doesn't like to post about his private life.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 17, 2023 11:08 AM |
French classical guitarist (twink?) Thibaut Garcia and his adorable gap tooth. Like every other classical guitarist, he plays Aranjuez way too much, but he’s lovely to look at. He sometimes tours with Jaroussky, listed above. Like Jakub Orlinski also listed above, I’ve never seen Thibaut mention a girlfriend in my years of following his IG profile.
A couple of years ago, I dreamt of an erotic scenario where Thibaut has hot, mildly raunchy sex with French diver Jules Bouyer and his massive penis, back in the 1700s lmao. They’re both so damn yummy.

[R34], [R41]. I agree and it is obvious for anyone who's been following them for longer that they are very close. Always doing holidays together, publicly flirting on instagram, wearing the same clothes and in an older interview they even half-joked (?) about getting married. Viotti also said that every free time they have they try to spend together, writing stuff like "connected forever" etc. Unfortunately all that changed when Viotti last year started a huge PR offensive, which culmimated in him presenting a "girlfriend", and since then they have drastically reduced all public interaction. But people who follow them for longer still remember the old times.

Another holiday pic of "Viottensamer" (how they call themselves)
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 28, 2023 4:20 PM |
Mi piacciono Viottensamer. E mi piace r53.

When I read posts such as that by r49 it makes me despair for the sad state of gay people if some of us are still seeking validation in fantasy secret relationships between two straight men who are simply acting as typical straight men bros do.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 29, 2023 6:25 AM |
I on the other hand find it sad there's still so much need to hide among celebrities.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 29, 2023 8:24 AM |
True, r56, but Viotti and Ottensamer are straight men, not closeted gay classical music celebrities who are being forced to hide their love.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 29, 2023 9:01 AM |
R15 Jaroussky has been openly gay for years and has a longtime bf.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 29, 2023 4:49 PM |
R3 sorry, but I see nothing hot about your guy. Maybe it’s a bad photograph, but I am not impressed. Same for R47. The rest of you did good. I didn’t know there were so many hot guys in classical music.
My contribution, baritone Keith Phares. I saw him in Carmen years ago, and besides a great voice he had a sleek body to go along. In his act 2 entrance he wore a tight black costume with black riding boots. All the women on stage, and some of the men, were ogling along with the audience. He’s older now but the memories remain. He comes back to Arizona opera occasionally, but my attendance is rare.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 29, 2023 6:03 PM |
Jupiter, he looks so different as Zurga, I would never know it was him.
But thank you for sharing, I’d never seen him shirtless. That’s quite respectable for 41. I saw him at least 8 years before that picture was taken.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 29, 2023 9:01 PM |
R58 - I saw Miloš Karadaglić in concert a few months ago (last minute invitation from a friend.) He played beautifully and he's even more dashing in person.

Emmet Cullen , sizzling Irish tenor.

R8, I was shocked by the difference. I thought that pic of him was more recent and thought he might have been ill or on Ozempic. The video below is, from what you mentioned, more recent.
Links of these hotties actually performing might be more interesting.

German lieder baritone Benjamin Appl

R77 - I didn't know that. He was a great romantic lead in South Pacific. He was probably getting a ton of D back in his South Pacific days!
by Anonymous | reply 79 | June 1, 2025 9:31 PM |
Paulo has always struggled with his weight. And during his run in South Pacific, he was happily partnered and I doubt he strayed.
Years ago, my husband and I went to see an (excellent) off-Broadway production of OUR TOWN. The audience sat on either side of a runway-style stage. We were in the first row on the right, and directly across from us in the first row on the left was Paulo Szoy and his partner. They were such a cute couple, always touching each other and smiling. I'm not ashamed to admit that they got as much attention from me as the play.

r81 - what makes you assume they were monogamous? Just a vibe? Genuinely asking. I'd say of my gay married friends it's about 60/40 on open vs. monogamous.
