Sometimes a relationship between a closet case and his best friend can produce, and last a lifetime. There's a guy I know who I swear has exactly that marriage, he's so femme he practically leaves a trail of glitter wherever he goes, but he and his wife are about 70 now, and are still best friends, and spend their golden years cheerfully visiting their kids and grandkids, and traveling together.
