Cory Monteith died 10 years ago yesterday

I’ve always felt his death ended an era of the 2010

Said no one ever.

and the other guy’s death was even a more harrowing story

I found him charming, goofy, likeable. A genius actor? No, not at all. But the show really turned a corner and lost its way (and its innocence) after Monteith died.

Whether its related to his death or not, Ryan Murphy allegedly lost interest in GLEE and the quality of scripts definitely suffered. The show became more and more nonsensical and contrived.

I was not much of a Glee fan - liked a few early episodes but quit that mess when it became a weird show where the characters changed every week to fit the song. (Sadly, like many Murphy shows, it went from "interesting/compelling/good/promising" to "WTF is this mess" quickly.)

There was something appealing about him, though. Aside from being adorable. He had that sort of relaxed everyman vibe. He would have had an interesting career outside of Glee.

I confuse him with barely remembered 70s comedian Kelly Monteith whenever I see his name. No relation, I think. Kelly Monteith was one of those American comedians who become more successful in the UK than in the States.

To steal a line of dialogue/idea from Mad Men......Ryan likes the beginnings of things. He's interested for a short stretch and then he moves on.

It's happened to just about everything he's ever done, going back to Popular. Initial season/seasons are interesting and then Miss Murphy gets bored and drops her toy. Quality from that point on depends on who picks up the toy and runs with it.

I remember how sad poor Lea was after Cory died.

Yeah, she still tormented me and took big shits in my wigs...but you could tell her heart just wasn't in it.

And sadly nothing has changed, the drug abusers from Hollywood back in the day, are still drug users/addicts.

The Widow Monteith sends her regards.

Fixed it for her.

If only Nancy Reagan had stepped in and helped him. Or Todd Bridges. Or Foxy Brown. Foxy could have cleaned up the Glee set and all of Hollywood.
