Regarding RWRB, it's a truly terrible book. HS is written by a woman, but it at least attempts to provide accurate representation. RWRB was written by a straight woman for other straight women. The book doesn't even pretend to understand how gay sex works. It's a super popular book and will be one of those things where everyone agrees the book it better than the movie. Heartstopper is actually the only movie/show I've ever watched where the show is significantly better than the book. Given the popularity of the book, I'm sure it will still get decent viewership (by streaming numbers). But I don't think it will have as much overlap with Heartstopper viewership as people think. Heartstopper is most popular with teens girls, and gay/queer people of a wider age range. RWRB will pull in some of the teen girls but mostly appeal to straight women who enjoy Hallmark movies.
