Nose rings
I'm not talking about the ones from 20 years ago where they pierce the side of the nose. I'm talking about thick piercings at the bottom of the nose.
When the FUCK is this horrid practice gonna go away? Can you imagine having to blow your nose with that shit there?

It is, absolutely, the most repulsive form of piercing, along with the Prince Albert.

A female clerk at my pharmacy has on one of these, a really thick one. It blocks her upper lip. I don't understand the appeal.

I remember when nose piercing became a thing in the 80s and at first some people got the septum piercing. Everyone laughed and called them cows because that’s what they looked like. Most everyone switched to nostril piercings. I have absolutely no idea why septum piercing has come back. Is it just that people have run out of body parts into which you can stick a piece of jewelry? Or is it that animal rights activists have forced farmers to stop piercing their animals’ noses and so people have forgotten what cows used to look like?

I don't think they work on everybody, but for some reason I find them really hot. The decorum police in me loves that they can be flipped up inside the nose so that they totally disappear when the occasion calls for it.

Those are called septum rings and I agree that they're hideous. Every third guy on Scruff has them now. So tiresome.

Tell me your a bottom without telling me you’re a bottom.

I had lunch today with a friend who just got one - he was so proud of it but I thought it was hideous. I told him "It's a very different look for you for sure!"

It's purpose is to prevent pigs from rooting and digging.
In guys it's a sign of being a hungry, groveling, sexual pig and for girls it's more like 'I don't give a f*ck what you think of me'

I hate them. They look stupid and gross. And everyone who does it thinks they are being so edgy but in reality they are sheep following the latest trend. It's especially prevalent in the non binary community along with the blue or purple hair.

They make my skin crawl

I see otherwise sexy guys on the apps then they have these huge nose rings! WTF is up with that? Is it a mental illness? Do they realize how fucked up that is?

I was going to say that. You see them a lot on bottom slave pigs in the gay BDSM leather scene. It's easy for Masters to find them in a crowd without asking.

I have my septum pierced. I’ve had it for 30 years. I did it myself because there was no piecing and tattoo parlor to go to and get it done 30 years ago.
I wear it flipped up and go to work. Sometimes I take it out if I’m going out of town for work or out of the country.
30 year ago it was shocking to people and they would stop me on the street and say weird things. But now you go to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned and the dental hygienist has one and a full set of sleeve tattoos.
Men like it. The ones that don’t probably aren’t men I’d like to talk to anyway.
So if there are millions of 20 year olds with them or covered in tattoos and you hate it, all I can say is you’re welcome. I accomplished what I intended. I innovated the prisspot detector and it’s very effective!

OP, septum piercing goes back more than 20 years ago. It’s not new.

R18, you did it yourself?! Have you ever been institutionalized? That’s unbelievably dangerous.

It’s always the fat ugly nonbinary types who wear these:

It's a useful indicator at times. If a good looking man has one, there's a more than good chance he's a filthy pig in bed.

I had a deviated septum and had to have surgery for about twenty years ago. The most intense pain afterwards (even with meds). I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to get their septum pierced unless medically necessary.

I like those little round eyebrow rings but they're out of style.

Ugly. However, I knew a woman who had a tiny diamond piercing on the side of her nose just above the nostril and that looked okay.

I’ve never needed to be institutionalized and I was on my way to becoming a lab scientist at the time. I knew more about safety and sterility and anatomy than most professional piercers do because there is no school for piercing as far as I know.
And I’m a man, quite a big man, a top and not a piggy bottom or even a super aggressive top.
My nose hasn’t fallen off in the last 30 years so I’m guessing I’ll make it into a nursing home with my nose intact. And it feels like nothing and I’ve had colds and never had a problem blowing my nose. When it’s flipped up and in invisible mode, I can’t really even feel it and I can easily go an 8 hour day (and have for 30 years) without it bothering me.
I’m not fat, blue haired, or non-binary. Ugly is a call someone else would have to make, but I’ve posted before that I’m in my 50s and only get attention from cute 25 year olds who I alway turn down. The septum ring probably isn’t helping because they think they’re talking to a gray haired and bearded dom top daddy and I’m not interested in being one.
I’m probably pretty odd looking at times because I have a job and I’m a professional so I look like an aging punk that got a decent haircut and Fell Into the Gap’s work casual section (which is kinda what I am).
And I’m no longer a lab researcher and if you knew what I now do for work you’d have a heart attack. (But even then, I’d probably be your best shot at surviving a heart attack. 🙂. So lucky you)
I was a 90s grunge punk that got old and got a real job and I still have my septum pierced. That’s it.
