OTHER TWO shocker: show canceled after gay showrunner Chris Kelly accused of running toxic set
“ Multiple sources involved with The Other Two confirm Kelly and Schneider were the subject of complaints to human resources over behavior on set and in the writers room. These include allegations that Kelly verbally abused writers and overworked crew and claims that Schneider enabled his behavior.”
FINISH HIM!

Can you imagine this queen SCREAMING at you because your joke wasn’t funny enough? I would have laughed in his face.
At least Ryan Murphy is somewhat intimidating. This would be like being reamed by the teenage shopbottom at Claire’s.

It’s called having a job, Zoomer.

He was Kate McKinnon’s writing partner. Kate dated Bari Weiss. Kate loves horrible people, like herself.

I guess we now know where the notorious thread “A showrunner HISSED at me” originated.

Well I guess now we know why the two main characters are so unapologetically vile.

I watched the first two seasons and they were generally fun, though the pathetic manager character should have been given the heave-ho a while ago. He's not remotely funny.
Then I watched the first episode of season 3 and it was so awful I bailed on the series. So if these two are assholes, they now have the show they deserve.

Season 3 episodes get better as the season progresses. It may be the best of the 3 seasons.

Yeah, season three has been really, really hard to get through. Still only on episode four.
I couldn't have loved season one more, however.

I think what I don't like about the current season is that Carey is SO UNLIKEABLE. In the previous seasons I was really rooting for him.

Seasons 1 & 2 were amusing. Season 3 has been abysmal.

You can always tell an unhappy set. This show had a great premise and some good lines/scenes but was always "pretend funny." You knew what was supposed to be funny. You could appreciate the humor in an abstract way. But it did not bring forth genuine belly laughs.
Compared to a happy set like The Nanny. It had a tired premise, scenes and lines that were not that funny, but it got actual belly laughs.
Funny is in the interaction and when there is tension in the creation, it is hard to get the funny.
For more confirmation, watch community. The scenes with Chevy Chase have great material....but never get the all out laughs that scenes without him do.

Jesus, I would hate to be in any management position in Hollywood. The fucking moaning and complaining and bitching of film industry people must be insufferable. Then and their fucking strikes, etc., and they're some of the best paid people in the country.
Once all of them are out of work and EVERYTHING is produced outside Hollywood, not just most of it, I hope all these people will think about their privilege while standing in the unemployment line.

The ending was nice but a bit rushed. I know they designed it as a potential series finale while hoping/expecting it to be a season finale, but it really did play out as much as it could.
The only thing that bugged me was that sweet Molly Shannon's character never addressed or atoned for why she felt the way she did when she got back from Ohio. It was out of character for her character to have such a strong negative opinion of people back in her rural small town. Instead, she wiggled out of the controversy without "learning the lesson" her two horrible oldest two had to learn.
Curtis looked really bad in the scenes on the patio. I know he's not an attractive guy but they had some weird makeup on him or something. Dare I say, he looked a wee bit....sickly? But I doubt it. Was probably bad lighting and makeup.
I liked that Cary apparently ended up with a new group of friends, all of them older gays, non-famous and everyday guys. Curtis' friends, in contrast, always seemed like they'd be biting and nasty and shallow, so I don't get how Cary somehow "hurt them too". Seems like the group of guys Cary met at the end would be more akin to the crowd sweet Curtis would run with, not the pink cocktail, YASSS KWEEN! gaggle he pals around with.
Anyhoo, so long to a really cute show. Too bad the runners were apparently hard bosses, and too, too bad the crew are a bunch of coddled millennials who get traumatized by being told to show up to work on time.

[quote]Insiders say that show creators Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider were the subject of staff complaints and a formal investigation, though ultimately cleared of wrongdoing... though several insiders say that there is no causal connection between the complaints and the decision to end with season three.
No "causal" connection - lol. Of course, there was. Someone "investigated" and cleared them in order to mitigate liability, but canceled the show to prevent further accusations of wrongdoing. I'm sure there is or will be a quiet settlement with an NDA.

They look so normal....wonder what the toxicity was?
It seems like they're just big flake-os who were probably not very professional.
Josh Segarra is beautiful.

r22 There were multiple scenes during the season where Cary intrudes on Curtis' viewing party with friends, shows up late, obsessively talks about himself, grabs all the attention, then leaves. He also drags them to the premiere of his stupid Disney movie and uses them in front of the press. Cary is like a hurricane of asshole to them. So it actually makes sense when Curtis says he doesn't want to interrupt the weekend by changing up the vibe. He has years of goodwill and friendship with Cary. The other people just know him as the giant asshole Curtis puts up with. And it's their vacation too.
