I might be showing my age, but does anyone else remember when the contestants had to spend their money on a showcase of items. The shoppers a bizarre. Wasn’t there like three or four different showcases they could choose from? I remember thinking why in the hell would they spend $70 on a lamp versus a …? I loved watching what items they would choose.

Then WOF changed to allowing contestants to keep their money.

Staying home sick from school as a kid was great because of Wheel. Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford were a terrific team, and watching what contestants bought was half the fun of the show.
