Well, I need to share this: I've just rewatched Stany's "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" (1946). Interestingly, when Lizabeth Scott first appears, she cannot pretend to like men (when acting opposite Van Heflin) to save her life - it gets better as the minutes go by, but girlllll...
