Maybe he'll start an Onlyfans.
[quote]This will make the film compete for the title of one of the biggest box office bombs with Johnny Depp‘s Lone Ranger (2013) and Taylor Kitsch’s John Carter (2012). Both the films had budgets of $225 million and $263 million and went on to earn $260 million and $282 million, respectively.
I still don't understand why they're considered one of the biggest flops when they actually were in the green at the end of the day. Surely there are movies around that didn't even recoup their budgets at the box office?

With luck, he'll fade from public view - at least until his next arrest or entry into rehab.

R1, they weren't in the green. Don't forget that the movie theaters get to keep c50% of the box office take, with the other c50% going to the studio. On top of that, the studio will have paid for marketing, etc, maybe another 10 - 15% of the movie's budget.
A simple example: $100 million movie. Let's say a conservative $10m in marketing costs; the movie needs to take at least $220 million at the box office to break even (because only half of that $220m will go to the studio).
There's more to it than that - taxes, tax credits, offsets, deductible costs, sales of merchandise, 'Hollywood accounting', yada yada - but a movie needs to take much more than its quoted budget to be in the green.

Or perhaps, R4:
1. He'll go the way of Marc Salling?
OR
2. Is he too much of a narcissist?
I vote #2.

LOL, John Carter was never in the green

Why isn't it cannibal-wannabe Armie Hammer's Lone Ranger? Depp was just the sidekick

But but… Sasha was the ONLY choice for Supergirl!
"What Sasha brings is just crazy," says Barbara Muschietti, Andy's sister and fellow producer on The Flash. "Strength and at the same time vulnerability. We saw that in her first read in the audition. She's very different from the past Supergirls and we loved that. As soon as we got her tape, we knew that she was it."

Who wants to watch a movie about the superpower of running fast? How fucking stupid.

I mean, what’s the next superpower? Getting all your Christmas shopping done by December 1?

Hollywood is dying. Most movies aren't doing well unless it's Marvel or something like Top Gun. China doesn't care about Hollywood anymore now that they are investing in their own high-budget productions. This isn't a bad thing, many Hollywood can focus on domestic audiences and bring back true filmmakers with heart rather than splurging on big budget cgi blockbusters.

Also, R5, for something like Lone Ranger, Depp for sure (and possibly Hammer) had some sort of percentage of the gross on top of their salary. And most big budget films with big name stars do, as well. So even the gross we think that goes back to the studio is lessened most of the time.

R1, the current rule of thumb is that to be successful a movie has to earn its budget x 3.

if he can get through the next year or two without criminal charges AND not have any public mental breakdowns, he will be fine. If he has mental breakdowns, it will be a while before he can be insured for a movie anyway.
He is not a movie star. He is a household name though. And arguably somewhere between talented and very talented. I didnt like the movie but he does give two different performances and you believe they're interacting with each other. thats not easy to sell over that many scenes (the two ezra characters spend most of the movie in the same scene).
He'll find work.

I saw the film yesterday and he did give a remarkable performance. He’s very talented, such a shame he went off the rails. Hopefully he can keep it together.
