I'd agree with Dodge, although I like the Challenger. The Dodge Ram truck seems trashy, IMO. Seems like someone wanting to show how masculine and virile they are.

The premise of the thread is which MAKE is the most white trash. It's stupid, but I didn't start the thread.

I like the look of the modern Mustang and the old Mustang. The Mustangs from the '90s were UGLY, though.

I've never driven a Mustang, though. I know that the Car Talk guys did not like the Mustang.

The premise of this threat is stupid because make is far too broad. There were many different models across makers that at one time or another were the go-to for white trash but really no one automaker was there one go to.

Omg. My bringing up the bumper of my SUV song made me curious about it and so I read the Wikipedia page about it and that was quite amusing. From the description of the incident to her claiming she only begrudgingly recorded and release the song to the controversy cause due to fan club shenanigans and trying to get additional airplane to the song which just sounds absolutely ridiculous.

R5 I was driving to work a few years ago before the pandemic and I literally saw a tranny driving a Trans Am. Or at least it was a very rough and worn out looking woman. I didn’t know that Trans Am was an actual car, and I thought she modified the name because she was a tranny.

This is a bit off topic but I’ve noticed that quite a few blacks and Latinos in the US have a complete aversion to any kind of foreign car. It must be a Ford or Chevy or Cadillac or Dodge. I guess they weren’t exposed to decent reliable cars growing up.

Somebody else’s ride and repossessed are the most white trash vehicles. One of the hallmarks of true white trash existence is lack of access to consistent, reliable transportation.

As far as far as aspirational automobile goals though I’ll add my vote for the trans am.

There are a lot more rednecks, and it's a significant subculture in rural areas throughout the country (not just the south, although southern rednecks have a subculture of their own). Some people like being rednecks or even aspire to become one, even though that's not their heritage. No one identifies as or wants to be seen as white trash and nobody wants to become white trash. As you say, criminality, financial insolvency and incompetence, and often unconventional moral codes are white trash hallmarks.

I think OP's question is really "what is the most redneck automobile ..." And the answer is, as many have said, the Ford F-150. The ubiquity of that vehicle even in affluent suburbs proves the draw of redneck culture.

Yeah red neck originally meant a white person who worked as a field band because their necks would get sun burned working outside bent over. It’s come to mean someone who does manual work which incudes things like construction. Lots of people identify as red necks while being middle class or above. And trucks are their vehicles because they are work vehicles.

To me, and this is probably, idiosyncratic, a repossessed minivan, downpayment having been made with the tax refund last year, is symbolic of the failed attempts to provide for a family that is white trash past a certain age.

Not white trash, but in my area, Kias are driven almost exclusively by black people. Not Hyundais, although that used to be true, but Kias. I don't know why this is.
