When Matt Bomer came out, he never whined or complained or made up excuses after the fact. He acknowledged he hid his sexuality to get roles when he was younger and that was that. We knew the deal anyway but he was never a full-blown closet case who would act funny whenever people who did know brought up his sexualty. He's out now his his husband and kids and seems happy and content. I don't remember Bomer ever making public announcements denying anything. There were pics of him with Simon too. People figured it out but he was never homophobic in his public persona (unlike Colton and Shawn Mendes) so he had more grace given to him. There's a difference in not broadcasting your sexuality (it's nobody's business anyway) and publicly denying it and trying to hard to seem straight. I told this in another thread, but I stole the copies of this spread from Books-A-Million in middle school or maybe it was freshman year of high school. Tore the pages out, and put them in my pocket. I couldn't help myself because I though Colton was on of the most beautiful men I'd ever seen. Stuck in the Midwest, closeted, and alone, I would look at those two and imagines, read the accompanying story, and dream about a life after high school, when I could find my beautiful boyfriend.

Those photos helped one lonely Midwest kid get through the challenges of youth. I'm proud that he could come out and appreciate this spread. Rooting for ya, Colton!

Bomer's "shortcut" was passing for straight with audiences and being traditionally handsome. He was C-List for most of his career and got lucky with White Collar. People also seem to like working with him which makes a huge difference.

Colton had a shitty team that help cost him his role on Teen Wolf by playing hardball and losing. People don't forget that. He admitted they caused trouble with Teen Wolf's team. He chose to leave Arrow because of mental health problems. He had drug abuse problems. He had weight issues relating to it.
