Despite having a very famous cast, this neo-noir doesn't seem to be talked about much. It follows an LA private investigator (Hackman) searching for the runaway teenage daughter (Griffith) of an actress in the Florida Keys. It is a weird and offbeat movie that unfolds a bit strangely, but the atmosphere and performances are top-notch. Griffith famously went topless in it at age sixteen, but this is one of the less remarkable things about it.

Man, the late 60s to early 80s had no issue with underage female nudity, you had Natassja Kinski, Brooke Shields, Olivia Hussey and Melanie Griffith do nudity under the guise of "art." Definitely a thin line between artistic expression and exploitation.

I wonder why Jennifer Warren didn't have a bigger career. She was reliably good in "smart, modern woman" roles. But she was so much like Candice Bergen, and there was already a Candice Bergen, so maybe that's why.
