I love this kid. And I think Kate is a great mom. William seems like a good dad, too. Raising kids is incredibly difficult in the best of circumstances. Imagine having every movement of your kid on public display.
Got it that we’re not talking about the sad plight of DL’s Darfur Orphan, but, still, what a ducked up way to be a kid.

Nice of them to let him come up with a couple of antics. Before long, Charlotte will rein him in, you may rest assured on this.
George probably can't be bothered to do so. He's more like "Can't be arsed," and he knows Lottie will make Louis' life miserable if the baby brat ever dare being a pain in the arse to her beloved big brother George.

I think among the Wales siblings, Louis is a bit of an outlier. George and Charlotte seem really close, resulting in Louis not involved in his elder siblings' close-knit bond. Being the outsider, Louis has very likely learned at an early stage in his life that being the playful, jolly clown which is getting him attention.
That being said, I sincerely hope Louis won't end up as Harry 2.0

Yes, it's normal behaviour for a kid, but he shows very little restrain for the kind of educations royals generally receive.
People use to laugh about Froilan behaviour in Spain but when he reached his teenage years he was totally spoiled and he continues to be a nightmare for spanish monarchy (with the difference the people doesn't like him at all now unlike when he was a kid)

by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 18, 2023 5:57 PM |
He looks like he’s on the autism spectrum. Probably higher functioning. He covers his ears with the loud noise of the airplanes, just like the previous time he was on the balcony ( the Queens Jubilee) because he’s sensitive to the noice and gets overstimulated. He also seems to have trouble staying still and is rather fidgety, he can’t just focus on the airplanes or any one thing in particular. He points to this, he moves his attention to something else, he salutes, he clenches fists from stimulation all in a span of a minute. This is common among people on the spectrum. I’ve worked with children on the spectrum and have seen many of the same behaviors in them. He most likely has the best behavioral specialist working with him already. All on the hush-hush, of course.

I am the OP of one of the first threads on the Internet that suggested Barron Trump was on the autistic spectrum after his behavior at the Republican National Convention. It got thousands of hits (back when we still had the counter) because it got picked up by Google and other people were searching for the terms “Barron Trump autism” becoming they noticed the behavior as well. I am on the Spectrum myself.
This is ABSOLUTELY autism spectrum behavior.
0:10 -covers ears - auditory overstimulation
0:20 - 0:30 - makes fists and pounds them together- this is stimming. This is a coping mechanism of extrasensory stress.
0:33 - 0:40 - waving - unusual expression of a motor function
There is no doubt in my mind about this. He most likely has already been diagnosed and is probably receiving the best care possible l

by Anonymous | reply 79 | June 18, 2023 7:38 PM |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with identifying that a child might be on the autism spectrum. That’s like getting offended for suggesting an effeminate or tomboyish child may grow up to be a gay or lesbian.
This reminds me of the episode of Curb where the mother got offended that Larry bought her effeminate son a sewing machine which is probably the nicest thing his character did in the run of the series.

I raised children. He is rambunctious. His parents, like most, are probably more lenient with him than they were with his siblings. He doesn’t display autistic traits. Lots of kids cover their ears at loud noises. The other behaviours were normal. I think he is a kid with a lot of energy.
My cousin was 10x worse as a child. He would attack the farm animals. Knocked out a rooster that attacked him (not necessarily a bad thing, as the rooster didn’t attack any children after that). Would be on the ground kicking and screaming if he didn’t want to do something. His parents didn’t do much. He grew up to be an athlete, went to university on full scholarship, founded a multi million dollar company, and is now running it from his retirement home in a sunny country.

Hilarious - a bunch of childless unqualified gay men making clinical assessments on a child who they don’t know, based on a couple of frames of pictures at an event thousands of miles away.
Here’s my assessment - in 15 or 20 years’ time he’ll be a good looking, famous young man who has had the best education that money can buy, who knows everyone and never has to worry about whether he can afford to pay the next utilities bill.
And you’ll all be bitterly living in the past, still judgemental, still jealous and still stuck in your early twenties gay party “boy” mindset, while life has passed you by.

I'd love Prince Louis to hook up with Prince Oscar. Hilarity would definitely ensue.

Oh yeah, an alliance between two unrepentant monsters would be hilarious. It’ll be particularly funny when they embark on a genocidal campaign to unite all of Continental Europe and the British Isles under a single crown.
Unfortunately, victory would only lead to a bloodier battle: Determining which of the two will rule as Europa Regina.

He's a kid OP. Have you ever met any 5 year olds?
by Anonymous | reply 131 | June 19, 2023 2:53 PM |
He's retarded.
You can see it despite all the cosmetic surgery he's had in his short life.
At least there's a "shocking event that will forever change the Royal Family" with his name on it that is scheduled for 2026, which will rally support for the monarchy.
That's what a spare's spare is for, although Elizabeth and Philip were too cowardly to apply it to Andrew as was originally planned.

Normal and adorable. My brother, who is not autistic or on the spectrum, went through a phase where every photo shows him clowning around and making faces. He grew out of it by middle school but he’s still an extrovert as an adult.

R13 Almost every kid tries to hit their parents in a tantrum. You just do not let them and catch their hand, and teach them two things: don't hit people and also, no one has to let themselves be beaten. Again and again, which Kate is doing. She could also let him do and laugh it off and raise an asshole. Some of you aren't around little children very often.

R135 yes, some of us aren’t around little kids very often, because we’re not straight women.

[quote]He looks like he’s on the autism spectrum. Probably higher functioning. He covers his ears with the loud noise of the airplanes, just like the previous time he was on the balcony ( the Queens Jubilee) because he’s sensitive to the noice and gets overstimulated.
When she was younger, his sister covered her ears, too. Those planes are very loud, and little kids tend to respond accordingly.

[quote]What was Kate's alcoholic drink of choice when she was pregnant with little Louis?
May I remind those with medium-term memory loss that Kate couldn't keep ANYTHING down during her three pregnancies?
FWIW, I cover my ears at loud music, sometimes even at the sound levels in the cinema, and I am not autistic. I'm a musical theatre nerd who has never exposed my eardrums to the kind of noise considered necessary at pop and rock concerts. I'm sure a fly-past would produce the same reaction in me too. As an adult I'd know enough to self-censor if I were on the Royal balcony, but a five-year-old doesn't know that.
The issue with Louis is that we can't know. Those on the spectrum are keen to claim him, others are keen to point the finger and others are keen to defend, but the truth is, none of us has seen enough behaviour from him of any kind to make a proper diagnosis, and none of us has seen him even once interacting in a normal situation, such as a schoolroom or at dinner with the family. So, we've all said our piece and should probably shut up now.

I've have significant congenital hearing loss since I was a kid. I always failed the hearing tests in grade school and got sent to the ENT. I have hearing aids now. Anyway, one of the features is intolerance to certain loud noises -- sirens, alarms, fireworks. If I'm out on a walk and police car or fire truck with sirens drive by I have to cover my ears. I've been doing it since childhood. Maybe Datalounge is picking on the wrong disability.

Do you live in a vacuum, R136? I am a gay man with no children and no desire to have children and I am surrounded by friends and family, gay and straight, male and female who do have offspring from babies to adults.

Here is the thing which some of you are failing to grasp:
He is not just covering his ears. If I saw him covering his ears once and said it was ASD I’d be nuts.
But being on the Spectrum myself, I see PATTERNS. And at R65 I see three different traits exhibited sequentially within the space of 40 seconds. Neuros simply don’t see them or choose not to see them. When I see them it’s like a gong going off.
Exercise: twenty year old interview with Josh Hartnett. What are the PATTERNS?

Attacking a child because the Duke and Duchess of Dior have fucked up and been found out - again - always keeping it classy, squaddies.

R147. I’ve been on here because I like BRF gossip. I’ve called out the klan grannies, but I’m not a Sussex fan, I think everyone in that family is an open target for gossip. I also have defended Louis because I’ve been around kids that age and that’s how they act (especially the youngest of the family, they’re almost always spoiled).
That’s DL. Get used to it.
Scolding people for posting stuff you don’t like only makes them more emboldened btw.

Plenty of neuros see them. But they don't judge people on 40 seconds' worth of behaviour, especially when exhibited in incredibly abnormal circumstances (on a Royal balcony receiving a fly-past, FFS). You may turn out to be right, R144, but you don't yet have enough evidence even though you think you do. You have never seen this kid's behaviour in ANY environment in which you might find an ordinary five-year-old -- not even for 40 seconds.

Well R149, you're the one who knows everything. R144 doesn't know anything about this.
