THE FLASH (2023)
Just got back from seeing it. Not bad at all. More humorous than I expected with some touching scenes.
It only really picks up when he runs back in time.
The CGI with the falling babies & dog was pretty awful. They had more than enough time to make those babies look real and not like plastic dolls.
So Ezra/Barry is meant to be part Latino...interesting. I'd of went with Asian, personally.
Cool CGI cameos during the big fight but very very funny one when he gets back to the present.
Supergirl kicked ass! I'd love to see a movie with her in it.
Nice Batman throwbacks, too. The Joker's laughing bag.

How much is Michael Keaton in it? Only reason I'd think about seeing it.

I saw it today. Pretty good movie.
More than half the film R1.
I saw a review OP, that wondered if the CGI for the babies was a deliberate choice, because all the rest of the CGI looked great.
Like they didn’t want to make babies falling from a building hyper realistic for … reasons.

My son watched it this morning before he went to work. He said exactly what OP said. He loved the part with George Clooney.

I just got back from seeing it as well. I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't bothered by the CGI like some people are. When Barry is in the Speedforce or the Chronobowl, I just assume that things are distorted and look different than reality. I think people expect too much from comic book movies sometimes. As long as I have an enjoyable time for two to three hours, I figure I got my money's worth.

But Barry put one in a microwave!
Just saw it a couple of hours ago. I enjoyed it too. When they brought up the fact that Eric stoltz was cast and the alternate universe's version of Back to the Future, I was like who was cast for Superman but it just didn't work out. Cage!
I was surprised to see shots of Ezra's perky butt and gratuitous hairy chest and armpits.

Am I racist for wanting to see Supergirl look like she does in the comics?
Was Sasha Calle the best choice for the character?

Very entertaining. One of the better DC films. A little long, as they all are. And yet another take on the multiverse, but it does make for some great variations of the timelines. The cameos of other DC characters reward those who've paid attention over the years and work relatively well. Scenes with Micheal Keaton, and several others, are a thrill. It's a shame about Ezra's self-inflicted problems because he's a wonderful actor. He plays multiple versions of his character and never makes a false move. A real talent and loaded with charisma. Handsome face and a great body, which you get to see in detail, including several tasteful nudes. He must get hit on all the time. Wow. His off-set behavior and identity issues are ridiculous and are definitely imploding his success. Hopefully he'll stabilize. He could be big if he just got over himself. Hopefully it won't damage the film's release too much, it's good enough to deserve a chance.

Ezra is a pretty phenomenal actor. I got a bit choked up when he was saying goodbye to his mom in the supermarket. They played it very subtle, but I believe (somehow) she knew he was her son.
Anyone stay for the post credits scene with Aquaman? Nothing really of note happened except to state that Mamoa was still Arthur.

They oughta have a promotion where Ezra MIller will choke the winners until they pass out. Good times.

Ezra annoyed me in all of Zack Synder’s movies but he surprisingly didn’t here. I actually liked both his characters. Why were his coworkers so mean?
Ezra looks a lot better with longer hair. He looked cute as his younger self with shaggy hair but looked horrible as his present day self with that bowl cut.

Muschietti on the VFX...
[quote]Discussing a scene at the beginning, where Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) saves babies from a nursery on the brink of falling down, Muschietti says the strange visuals are intentional. Namely, it’s the film’s depiction of the Speed Force – how the world changes around Barry when he’s running: “The idea, of course, is…we are in the perspective of the Flash. Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures. We enter this ‘waterworld’ which is basically being in Barry’s POV. It was part of the design so if it looks a little weird to you that was intended.”
Uhm, ok.

It was worth the price of admission to hear the words, "Up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane" and then see George Reeves on an IMAX screen holding his rightful place as the one true Man of Steel.

My daughter and I saw The Flash today. I'm not a fan of superhero movies in general, so I had low expectations going in. It was a so-so film
But, as much as Ezra Miller is apparently a creep, I liked seeing his unclothed torso. He has an average face and I guess I'd only ever seen his chest waxed or shaven, but his hairy chest in the movie was nice. The lack of washboard abs looked wholesome to my eyes.

No one but nerds and geeks and low lives gives any fucks for these horrid "superhero" movies. Chris Reeves would be disgusted to know Ezra's chinky history and know that H'wood is pushing this garbage.

Miller was really good playing 2 characters.
Why they felt they needed to make his mother Latina AND Supergirl??

In a midweek upset, Sony holdover Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Pixar’s new animated Elemental edged out Warner Bros.’ DC superhero tentpole The Flash at the Wednesday box office.
All eyes will be on The Flash to see if it can reclaim its No. 1 standing Thursday on its way to winning the June 23-25 box office race, or whether Elemental‘s more positive word-of-mouth makes for a close contest.

I worked on the (old) post credits button- Cavill's Superman, Gadot's WW, Keaton's Bat, and Calle's Supergirl all go to Barry to recruit him into the Justice League.

Someone said the special f/x are embarrassingly amateurish. I don't know why they released it at all. Or they could just CGI Harry Styles into all the scenes.

Yeah, there was too much focus on Superman in the cameos, which sucked. They should l have included Lynda Carter and even some of the CW heroes like the Titans or the CW Flash.
I’m glad to see others here appreciating Ezra’s performance in this. I really enjoyed him in the role, and there’s a lot of him in the film, playing two different versions of Barry. He’s very charming, (and very attractive). I’m hoping he stays well, because I’m a fan again.

R43, here. Oops, I meant Nic Cage.

Wow, pleasantly surprised by the thread. I was prepared for hate and vitriol. I had avoided reading it until I saw the movie.
Saw it this Sunday and I really, really liked it!
It was nostalgic. Totally surprised by WWs appearance!
I did tear up when Barry was saying bye to his mama. .
I was surprised they made his family Latina. Shocked, actually.
Sorry to disagree but Chris Reeve is the one true Superman.
I was laughing so much at that scene with all the roommates, I’m sure I missed some stuff. Might have to rewatch it.
