Were/are you a fan? I was a child of the '90s, born to '70s/'80s rock enthusiast parents, and VH1 was on our TV frequently while I was growing up. The images in this video of Billy Idol's leather-clad tight ass thrusting onstage quite possibly made me gay. I don't care for the song, though I do enjoy some of the Generation X stuff, as well as "Hot in the City", which I still find very listenable.
I thought he was one of the hottest huys and aged beautifully and then I found out he killed a kitten so, not so much anymore.

Despite the trademark bleach blond hair, Billy is actually a natural brunet. I think he looked hottest when he was sporting some of his chest hair. I've seen some more recent photos where he's either clean-shaven or had it lasered off, and it doesn't look good.

Had undeniable charisma and an underrated voice. His collaboration with Steve Stevens yielded some great stuff. Possibly could have had a greater career, but the early 90s alt/grunge tsunami & his motorcycle accident made that moot.
All in all, I liked him.

I don't like his music at all. To me, he's a male version of the type of pop tartlets we usually think of as women or Sean Mendes, who become well known because they're nice to look at and in spite of the music attached to them.
