WTF? Why would Emma Stone humiliate herself like this?
I'll see it.

I see another Oscar for her OP!

She's so homely.

This looks so fucking weird.
It's like Wes Anderson now has an illiterate Polish ripoff artist copying his work, direct to DVD.

That looks as dopey as American shit.

Looks bizarre, but I am always willing to give Yorgos Lanthimos a go. I loved "The Favourite" and thought Stone was fantastic in it. There was a fair amount of press regarding Margaret Qualley appearing in this, but she really got the shaft in that teaser trailer. I am assuming her role is minor.

All these years later, and I still desperately want to eat Mark Ruffalo's ass.

Yorgos Lanthimos is an interesting director, quite effective in The Favorite. I imagine, based on the success of that movie, that Fox gave him an enormous amount of money to do whatever he wanted, as happens frequently in Hollywood when one director has a big first movie hit (think Michael Cimino, Tom Hooper, etc.) And as frequently happens, the director goes into a blind state and produces the biggest, shiniest, most monumental stinker of their life.
This is the case of Poor Things. A hyper-designed, hyper-costumed, hyper-vaginated proto feminist tale trying to pretend that it's not a series of straight men's fantasies about women's sexuality. The story is weak, the performances plain weird (Emma Stone cannot possibly win an Oscar for her just passable performance) or flat (Mark Ruffalo is such a bad actor). That aside, so many bad decisions - astounding sets that completely overwhelm the action so that you're constantly distracted by them and horrible disonant music that has to be the worst score I ever heard in my life.
Really, this is a terrible movie, a stinker and a bore. Don't believe the hype. And see it only if you're a Tim Burton fan. This is Tim Burton on acid with gore and unpleasant raw sex.

Oh dear. Winter may last for a bit and we're rained in. Maybe a movie night when it's released for home viewing.

...Exactly what about this strikes you as so "humiliating," OP?
I find this to be an odd reaction, especially considering there's been plenty of MUCH weirder movies with big stars in the lead, for example the one from years ago where Dan Radcliffe's entire role is literally just a farting corpse.

Sounds memorable, r10.

The talented Margaret Qualley has about 20 seconds of screen time.

I've seen the trailer at least three times in the movie theater, and each time I see it, this looks worse.
