This is his major problem. Playing artsy "indie" roles isn't working because he doesn't have the gravitas to pull off that kind of acting like Andrew Garfield. If he plays a stronger leading role the project will likely bomb.

He also can't suddenly decide to start playing supporting roles in projects his people know will be successful, because he's "Tom Holland."

I think ultimately he's not a leading man unless he's playing Spiderman and even then the heavy lifting is done by the "character."

R76 I believe he is trying to promote his new series “The Crowded Room.” He said the part was very upsetting. It was upsetting and boring to me as the viewer. Hot mess. I really tried to finish the series, but I find it monotonous. It’s just absolutely terrible.

Zendaya looks like she's been around a couple blocks, while Tom looks like he still plays with blocks.

It seems like actors from the UK and Australia are about what they can bring to the project whereas US actors tell you what they want before they even consider the role. Plus, the latter is usually not formally trained in theater.
