Has any scene in a superhero movie been as good since this scene?

Great scene. Probably best in movie. Of course, the big question was how a reporter could afford a Manhattan penthouse. Family money?

She’s asking the important questions- how big are you and (paraphrasing here) you fuck?

Michael Keaton elevates everything in which he participates.

You really shouldn't smoke, you know, Miss Lane.

Don't tell me, lung cancer?

*he zaps her lungs with cancer-inducing X-rays*

Not yet!

👆That could be seen as wickedly subversive.

I saw Superman in a movie theater with my parents in December 1978. We all enjoyed it. What made it more enjoyable was the large chocolate 🍫 bar they let me buy in a variety store nearby and which I ate during the movie.

Does anyone remember Variety stores?

"How big are you...uh...tall are you?"

Still one of my favorite lines from this movie. Lois Lane asked the questions we all wanted the answers to.

R3, the Mad Magazine spoof (Super-Duper Man) had a hilarious take on this. In the panel, Lois says, "Who would believe a man could fly?" and Superman replies, "The same morons who believe a $125 a week reporter like you could live in a Taj Mahal apartment like this."

Thanks r11, I forgot how much I missed Mad Magazine

The best superhero movie period. That scene is so good.

by Anonymousreply 13June 5, 2023 5:41 PM

R5 - Michael Keaton was great there.

by Anonymousreply 14June 5, 2023 9:09 PM

Michael Keaton is brilliant in everything he’s in!

by Anonymousreply 15June 5, 2023 9:14 PM

He kind of is.

Just watched Mr. Mom last month. Geez, he was great.

by Anonymousreply 16June 5, 2023 9:22 PM

But the kid gets the greatest line at the end of the scene
