Mike Pence to announce 2024 presidential campaign in Iowa next week
Former Vice President Mike Pence will enter the 2024 presidential race June 7 with a kickoff event in Iowa, The Post has learned.
Pence, 63, will mark his entrance to the GOP primary with a speech in Des Moines, a source familiar with the vice president’s plans said. He is also scheduled to take part in a CNN town hall the same day.
“We view this race as absolutely wide open, and Iowa is really going to solidify itself as the pivotal player,” a source close to the situation told NBC News.
“It’s a place that values Mike Pence’s principles — traditional conservative principles — deep-rooted faith and uncommon character.”
A super PAC supporting Pence, Committed to America, launched earlier this month.
Pence’s entrance will pit him against his former running mate, Donald Trump, as well as an increasingly crowded field of Republican candidates.
Pence broke with Trump, 76, over his claims the 2020 election was decided by fraud.

He hasn't got a hope. They wanted to hang him on January 6!

You know this was his plan all along, except, of course the Great Orange One not getting a second term.
He was never going to hit on the national stage without taking the VP spot when they offered it.
The best part will be that they'll all have to attack cheeto to criticize him.

Last week he testified in front of a Grand Jury for seven hours. I think he knows Trump is going to jail - which is why he's decided to run for President. That's my gut feeling. If he wasn't certain, he wouldn't throw his hat in the ring.

Can you imagine a debate where he and Trump are slinging shit at each other?
I know there's speculation Trump will be skipping the debates, but I think he'll eventually change his mind because he won't be able to resist the spotlight. Plus, he'll be enraged after other candidates get a polling bump from the debates.
