Windex has one job

And it sucks at it.

by Anonymousreply 30May 30, 2023 12:08 PM

Don’t come for windex just because yo stankin ass never mastered it’s use and keep 6 month dirty windows. You Dusty ho.

by Anonymousreply 1May 29, 2023 10:42 PM

The smell of Windex is repulsive

by Anonymousreply 2May 29, 2023 10:59 PM

Walmart has a superior product. Great Values Window cleaner does magic

by Anonymousreply 3May 29, 2023 11:03 PM

Do they still make Glass Wax? We used the stencils to make snowflake windows every Xmas when I was a kid.

by Anonymousreply 4May 29, 2023 11:25 PM

Windex is wonderful.

Two squirts - one in each of OP's eyes - and it's a PAR-TEE!!

by Anonymousreply 5May 30, 2023 12:10 AM

Works great for me - perhaps it's the cloth you are using.

by Anonymousreply 6May 30, 2023 12:11 AM

Fuck you OP.

by Anonymousreply 7May 30, 2023 12:15 AM

Streaks, OP?

by Anonymousreply 8May 30, 2023 12:16 AM

On the bright side, they're charging more for less of their shitty product!

Just like all other companies nowdays.

by Anonymousreply 9May 30, 2023 12:18 AM

Vinegar. Straight vinegar. Consider using one of those floppy mits they say is for washing your car. I've found it works well.

by Anonymousreply 10May 30, 2023 12:19 AM

Piss and paper towel

by Anonymousreply 11May 30, 2023 12:28 AM

windex is wonderful but the stuff in the aerosol blue and white can is superior.

vinegar sucks like r10 wishes someone would let him.

by Anonymousreply 12May 30, 2023 12:32 AM

OP has apparently never seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

OP, you need to dry with an Ettore Master Brass squeegee — don’t use paper towels EVER.

So did we, r4. We had a whole set of stencils, and we would dye the Glass Wax with McCormick's food coloring. Here's a whole article on it. Were Glass Wax stencils part of your Christmas fun, DLers?

R10 vinegar is corrosive to stone counter tops like quartz. I stopped using it for that reason. Windex is allowed.

by Anonymousreply 16May 30, 2023 12:57 AM

Paper towels are great for a finishing touch, but I learned from my mother-in-law to use plain old newspapers to clean windows.

by Anonymousreply 17May 30, 2023 2:51 AM

Why does it taste good?

by Anonymousreply 18May 30, 2023 3:03 AM

Make your own with water. ammonia and rubbing alcohol.

by Anonymousreply 19May 30, 2023 3:13 AM

r17 - Newsprint doesn't leave the lint that paper towels do.

by Anonymousreply 20May 30, 2023 3:15 AM

Windex and newspaper = perfect windows.

by Anonymousreply 21May 30, 2023 3:15 AM

Doesn’t newspaper ink bleed and get all over? I would use plain newsprint, the kind that artists use for sketching, instead.

by Anonymousreply 22May 30, 2023 4:07 AM

No the ink seems to improve the job R22. I've tried everything and come back to Windex and newspaper every time.

by Anonymousreply 23May 30, 2023 4:15 AM

Okay, R23, great! Now I’ve just got to find someone who sells newspapers.

by Anonymousreply 24May 30, 2023 4:20 AM

Yes that is a big problem these days R24. I ask the old lady next door to save me some of her newspapers for my windows. I don't know anyone else who even reads physical newspapers now.

by Anonymousreply 25May 30, 2023 4:26 AM

I like to put vodka in a shpray bottle and lick it off any shurface.

by Anonymousreply 26May 30, 2023 5:44 AM

I have a gallon of windex with a bottle to refill. It’s good for surfaces if you don’t need to disinfect.

by Anonymousreply 27May 30, 2023 6:56 AM

I love my Windex with a lemon twist.

by Anonymousreply 28May 30, 2023 7:07 AM

spray with plain distilled water. wipe with e-cloth.

by Anonymousreply 29May 30, 2023 11:57 AM

[quote]The smell of Windex is repulsive

That's the ammonia.
