I think it might vary depending on whether the deaf person ever had hearing or was born with profound hearing loss. I always assumed that deaf people heard nothing, and blind people saw nothing, but there's a range. A celebrity percussionist who became deaf in her teens said that at least some moderately to profoundly deaf people hear sound, but it is unintelligible....like the sound of gravel softly rolling around on a drum head. But some deaf people do hear nothing at all. I would assume that people who had hearing for some of their lives still hear their voices when they are talking to themselves inside their heads.

How about sign language? Or nothing - not everyone talks to themselves.
