For awhile she was top of the charts and her music videos were a lot of fun, because of the choreography. Her sound kept evolving too. Her sound went from “What Have You Done For Me Lately?” to “Throb” Her voice is incredibly thin though and it grates when I listen to her now. She made the most of what she had talent wise tho. She’s always had to work really hard to keep the weight down so it’s not a surprise that as she got older she started losing the battle more often than not.

This is why I prefer her dance songs over her ballads. In her dance songs, her reed thin voice is incidental to the heavy bass and drum beats that get you up and moving. In ballads, her voice is barely above a whisper, which sounds cute and sweet, but sweetness gets tiresome after a few listens.
