What is your favorite lunch sandwich?

I was thinking egg or tuna sandwich. Or, maybe roast beef?

I know a burger is a sandwich but it just doesn’t SEEM like one in my head!

by Anonymousreply 1May 25, 2023 2:26 PM

No club sandwich or shrimp salad...lame.

by Anonymousreply 2May 25, 2023 2:28 PM

^ You wouldn't eat it anyway.

PP&J? Are you expecting Trump to cast a vote?

by Anonymousreply 4May 25, 2023 2:49 PM

A Reuben - corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian Dressing (Wishbone version), on New York rye. With loaded potato salad, and either bread-n-butter pickles, or pickled okra.

You forgot turkey in the poll, OP

by Anonymousreply 6May 25, 2023 3:57 PM

^ Chicken/turkey close enough.

A good quality Italian sub

After seeing that egg salad sandwich, now I want one...even though I voted for a BLT.

by Anonymousreply 10May 25, 2023 4:17 PM

R10 yeah that egg salad looked good.

Not a traditional favorite but I love a good Monte Cristo or French Dip. Now those are SANDWICHES

by Anonymousreply 13May 25, 2023 5:02 PM

Egg salad is my worst nightmare.

by Anonymousreply 14May 25, 2023 5:11 PM

I'm into complex grilled cheeses with multiple types of cheese, carmelized onions, tomato, etc etc. And a cup of soup or side salad. Round that out with an iced tea. Perfect lunch!

I like egg salad provided the eggs are not over cooked and there’s nothing weird in it, but a fried egg sandwich is hard to beat.

Homegrown tomato sandwiches on fresh bread with a LIGHT layer of Dukes mayonnaise on both slices of bread is my favorite.

by Anonymousreply 16May 25, 2023 5:15 PM

I could eat a good chicken salad sandwich a few times a week for lunch. But a Reuben sandwich is really the ultimate.

by Anonymousreply 17May 25, 2023 5:16 PM

A BLT when tomatoes are in season is the best. Crisp bacon with thick, juicy tomato slices is a great salty/sweet balance.

by Anonymousreply 18May 25, 2023 5:16 PM

No pastrami option? What am I, chopped liver?

by Anonymousreply 19May 25, 2023 5:50 PM

I picked tuna b/c that is something I actually make at home and eat. Genova brand, oil-packed, with Best Foods mayo, Tabasco sauce, and sweet pickle relish. But I serve it on Triscuit crackers instead of bread.

a Cuban sandwich. Me between 2 Cuban papis.

by Anonymousreply 21May 25, 2023 6:37 PM

Rare roast beef (Wegman’s American Kobe when they have it) and sliced Swiss cheese on a lightly toasted Miami onion roll with horseradish crème and a Nathan’s dill pickle slice. Perfection.

An infused black cherry soda with it tastes a lot better than Dr. Brown’s, too.

by Anonymousreply 22May 25, 2023 6:52 PM

Red onion, black olive, ham, Genoa salami, pepperoni, provolone

by Anonymousreply 23May 25, 2023 6:58 PM

Forgot about banh mi. The one I get is lemon grass tofu w/extra pickled vegetables.

Ham and (kosher dill) pickle salad on toasted rye.

by Anonymousreply 25May 25, 2023 9:33 PM

Can it be a dinner sandwich?
