Commercials you hated back in the day

These kids always seem like tards to me. Maybe they were. Maybe that's why it worked for them instead of just normal fucking reading.

The Connect Four commercial that featured the smug sister.

Charmin toilet paper. I hated it, hated it, hated it. I still do.

I always hated the little girl with the abnormally large head and adult hairdo in this commercial. But the advertising company was smart enough to put in a hot country daddy and a mom with a huge rack in the commercial.

And the bad commercials were even more torturous if you didn’t have a TV remote. Back in the 50s and 60s, you had to get your ass up off the couch to change the channel.

I had an irrational hatred for this commercial when I was in high school. Hated it.

This one was sufficiently obnoxious that you'd get the fuck up off the couch and change the channel/turn off the set!

That’s one creepy ass commercial.

I love it.

This commercial used to drive me fucking nuts.

It was always on between my cartoons as a kid. I think it was on both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. I don’t understand the marketing tactic behind it because all it did was annoy little kids.

But now, 20 years later I absolutely love this commercial and I know it by heart and it’s funny to see the comments cause it’s all people my age talking about Joe special / nostalgic it is.

But god it was so annoying as a kid.

That was exceptionally tough to watch R23. Just awful.

Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby:

I hated this commercial only because the jingle was such an ear worm and I would start singing it all the time. Like, I’d be in social studies and just start singing quietly ‘underwear that you can wear without a care…’. It was incredibly annoying.

Remember the fire prevention PSAs with some guy in a creepy Smokey the Bear mascot costume? They always disturbed me as a kid, but this one sent me running straight out of the living room:

This Twizzlers commercial always made me either mute the tv or change the channel. I HATED those mouths. They grossed me out (even though the teeth and lips are fine looking, I wasn’t a fan).
