To call what the Minnesota legislature accomplished in ONE legislative session historic is an understatement. This is multiple generations worth of progressive legislature that will have a direct and material impact on people's lives. And they did this with SLIM majorities in both houses of their legislature. And they did this with a caucus whose majority was made up of moderate Dems working WITH progressive Dems as opposed to seeing them as a threat. They didn't see those slim majorities as a time to be cautious and do nothing, but as a true mandate to make generational impacts upon the lives of Minnesotans.
The Electoral College and the gerrymandering and seemingly unlimited amounts of dark money that flood our national elections can be so disheartening, I know. But THIS is what is possible if we remain engaged in our local and State elections.
