Looking Back at Meg and Billy: When Harry Met Sally (almost) 25 Years Later

It has been nearly 25 years since this film was made. Looking back at the careers of both actors--Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal-- they were both so funny, so fresh, and set up for huge careers.

But with the passing decades, the double standard is amazing. Meg's face is always critiqued as just this awful choice. But, truly, Billy's face in recent photos is no better.

Why doesn't anyone ever post about why Billy aged badly or his having hit a wall, or his career going down the shitter, like people do with Meg?

I know her plastic surgery wasn't great, but her face has settled and it seems most of what people blame for bad surgery is actually her aging.

Billy's face has changed just as much as Meg's and really looks no better, so why does Meg get all the hate?

It's like aging is a crime for women--an unforgivable crime.

And did Billy really have a much better career than Meg?

I love the movie, by the way. I think the movie has aged well, stands the test of time, still makes me laugh, and is a classic of the romantic comedy genre. It just baffles me how differently these 2 stars were treated as they aged.

A watered-down Annie Hall

It was a terrific movie, infinitely better than the many generic romantic comedies to follow that tried to capture the same spirit. I think it should have been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.

I loved this movie, but Billy was too old to pull off the college age years.

I bought the soundtrack and loved watching this movie at the time and over the years.
