-Ed Word Endings
In recent years I've noticed on DL and elsewhere that it's becoming common to drop -ed endings on certain words. Is this something recent, or has it been going on for years with the internet making it more evident? Is it an American thing? English is not my first language, so I'm wondering about the recency of this and how common it is.
Some examples from recent threads:

Is it the case that your examples, ‘icebox’ and ‘britches’, were replaced by words that came into use as the result of illiteracy?
That’s the issue we’re discussing here: literacy. Not the evolution of language.
It IS a devolution if we’re changing language to accommodate people who are ignorant and uneducated.

down here in these parts, folks tend to reckon I ain't got the best grammar. But that's just how we talk 'round these parts, y'know? I reckon it's got some charm to it, adds a little somethin' to our character. Some folks might call it ignorin' and reckon we oughta speak like them perfect ol' robots with their fancy words, but heck, who gives a darn? It's a style, plain and simple. Ain't hurtin' nobody, and it ain't like everybody's doin' it. So why fuss 'bout it? Diverse styles, they make this ol' world keep on spinnin'.

Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, Zora Neale Hurston, Eudora Welty, Harper Lee, Carson McCullers, Truman Capote, James Lee Burke, Rick Bragg, Larry Brown, Cormac McCarthy, Ron Rash, Ernest J. Gaines, Alice Walker, Reynolds Price, Clyde Edgerton, and Pat Conroy, they're all mighty fine southern writers who done captured them characters with their own unique southern twang, adding a whole heap of flavor to the grand tapestry of southern literature.
They're fun to play on stage and movies too. Go on, do a southern accent. It's fun.

Most people I know personally still use participle adjectives correctly. I think younger folks are truncating many parts of speech and modifying spellings because that’s how they write online. Many TikTok comments don’t even use punctuation. It’s takes me longer to read that way, but I’ll croak in a few decades and language will go on without me.
I think it’s pretty interesting to look at long arcs through history. Dr. Geoff Lindsey’s YouTube page is one of my favorites for speech and language discussion.

This is not about the evolution of words/colloquialisms. “Language change” is an abysmal rationalization for the horrific grammar being foisted on the reading public by the grammatically lazy/inept, the woefully ignorant and the fuckwits who were wanking in their school loo rather than sitting in English class learning correct grammar.

R56, that one I don't get.
"Stew beef" is a thing. It's a cheap cut of beef, cut up into stew-sized* pieces.
"Beef stew" is a thing, but it has no "-ed" to drop.
I've only heard "stewed beef" in the context of recipes and description of more complicated dishes than plain old beef stew.
*However, the "-d" has been disappearing from "-sized" constructions for quite some time.
