Iam sang the cutest song on Disney Night, called "Lava."

I never heard it before, and I think it's such an adorable song!

The hillbillies already voted out the one who should be the winner, We Ani.

Young white country male will win, like usual.

Is the country singer the favorite to win?

[quote] ‘American Idol’ outrage! Fans say Wé Ani was robbed of spot in finale

“American Idol” fans were outraged Sunday night when Wé Ani was eliminated after two powerhouse performances on “Disney Night.” The 24-year old performer from New York received high praise from judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie after belting out “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen II” and “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” But it wasn’t enough to rally the votes, and despite fans voting her the best of the night in our recent poll, she was sent packing alongside Mississippi’s Zachariah Smith.

Following two hours of inspired performances, host Ryan Seacrest announced the three finalists were Colin Stough, Iam Tongi and Megan Danielle. They’ll sit down with mentor (and former judge) Keith Urban prior to the main event on Sunday, May 21. Wé had been forecasted to make the finale since our Season 21 predictions center opened.

Here are a few fan reactions:

“Will never watch this show again. Pitiful. Wé Ani was heads above in talent.” – Elise

“Terrible results. Wé is the best. ” – Joanne

“This is the first time the voters of American Idol have brought me to tears. No way should Wé have gone home.” – Barbara

“Wé Ani gave the best performances, Come on!!! Rigged” – Marc Lewis

“Very disappointed in the top 3, Wé Ani shouldn’t have gone home.” – Patricia Smith

Despite the fans’ disappointment in Wé’s early ouster, Iam continues to be the season-long front-runner. Will he ride this wave to a victory for Hawaii? Or will Colin or Megan stage yet another upset? Tune in Sunday, May 21 (8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT) on ABC to vote for your favorite and watch the results live coast-to-coast.

How We Ani is not in the final? She is fantastic

by Anonymousreply 5May 16, 2023 6:48 PM

I can't believe American Idol is still a thing.

by Anonymousreply 6May 16, 2023 7:04 PM

Very high level of talent this year. Can’t really quibble. I’m going with Colin. I think he’s got a lot if potential and has shown the most growth which suggests he’s not yet at his peak.

by Anonymousreply 7May 16, 2023 7:17 PM

Kylie Minogue is performing! Probably her new single, 'Padam Padam' which is out tomorrow (18th May).

GET READY BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 8May 16, 2023 7:48 PM

What kind of names are "We Ani" and "Iam Tongi?"

by Anonymousreply 9May 17, 2023 1:02 AM

Will the finale be on FOX?

by Anonymousreply 10May 17, 2023 4:46 PM

Iam's voice is like buttah.

by Anonymousreply 12May 21, 2023 5:14 PM

The 2002 me would've been very invested in this.

by Anonymousreply 13May 21, 2023 5:15 PM

I can’t watch these shows anymore because of the voters. My faves are always robbed. Even in the earlier seasons there were terrible eliminations (Jennifer Hudson).

by Anonymousreply 14May 21, 2023 5:26 PM

Well if it's any consolation, Kylie Minogue will be performing tonight on the show.

Some of “today’s top artists” and “music legends” will be celebrating the finale, per ABC. More surprises are to come, but here’s who we know will be there so far:

He looks good!

by Anonymousreply 17May 22, 2023 12:02 AM

15 years ago they robbed my gay wet dream David Archuleta. I've never been the same since.

by Anonymousreply 18May 22, 2023 12:05 AM

I didn't realize that two of the finalists are country singers.

Is that a first?

by Anonymousreply 19May 22, 2023 12:08 AM

This girl Megan Danielle is making my ears bleed!

by Anonymousreply 20May 22, 2023 12:10 AM

It hasn't been the same sing Madeeza lost

by Anonymousreply 21May 22, 2023 12:12 AM

This kid Colin Stough is sexy.

by Anonymousreply 22May 22, 2023 12:27 AM

Megan's second song was good.

by Anonymousreply 23May 22, 2023 12:40 AM

We (and to a lesser extent Iam) were the only ones worth listening to. I mean, it's fine, it's just AI. But there's no one worth continuing watching the show for.

by Anonymousreply 24May 22, 2023 12:50 AM

No cute guys in the finale this year. Vote for Iam Tongi!

by Anonymousreply 25May 22, 2023 1:01 AM

Someone is going to get cut NOW.

by Anonymousreply 26May 22, 2023 1:10 AM

TLC is on, but none of these kids know their songs..rofl.

by Anonymousreply 27May 22, 2023 1:14 AM

REO Speedwagon!

Omg this guy is so weird!

by Anonymousreply 28May 22, 2023 1:17 AM

Ack! I can't believe Colin got eliminated!!

He's so cute.

by Anonymousreply 29May 22, 2023 1:22 AM

Yes, the white country guy was eliminated! I honestly thought the cuntry vote was going to give him the W.

He deserved to go. The other 2 were far better than him. Besides, we’ve already had tons of winners like him.

by Anonymousreply 30May 22, 2023 1:24 AM

Megan really thought she was going home. You can tell.

She was cheering for Iam before the top 2 announcement was even made.. lol.

by Anonymousreply 31May 22, 2023 1:26 AM

Jelly Roll.

I've heard a lot about him, but this is the first time I've seen him perform.

by Anonymousreply 32May 22, 2023 1:27 AM

We Ani was robbed, it should have been her and Iam Tongi in the top two. The cunt from Georgia better not win!

by Anonymousreply 33May 22, 2023 1:29 AM

Oliver Steele is cute too.

by Anonymousreply 34May 22, 2023 1:31 AM

by Anonymousreply 35May 22, 2023 1:32 AM

Omg that was awesome!

Kylie looks so fucking good.

And she's so tiny!!

by Anonymousreply 36May 22, 2023 1:36 AM

Kylie, lip synching. 😐

These 3 Finalists are mediocre, at best. Megan has an unbearable nasal twang. Colin is okay.

Big Iam will be "The First Pacific Islander American Idol!!!!!!!" AKA, The Chosen One from the git-go.

I'm watching for Clay and Ruben.

by Anonymousreply 37May 22, 2023 1:39 AM

Keith Urban looks great.

Damn, he never ages.

by Anonymousreply 38May 22, 2023 1:49 AM

OMG why did they do that song.

Everybody was a fucking wreck!!

Even James Blunt couldn't get through it.

by Anonymousreply 39May 22, 2023 1:54 AM

James Blunt looked and sounded terrific! A true emotional performance (but fake Katy tears).

by Anonymousreply 40May 22, 2023 1:54 AM

R39, James certainly did "get through it," quite strongly.

by Anonymousreply 41May 22, 2023 1:57 AM

Elie Goulding!

by Anonymousreply 42May 22, 2023 1:59 AM

I hope Megan wins.

She's awesome.

by Anonymousreply 43May 22, 2023 2:33 AM

Ruben and Clay Aiken!!!

by Anonymousreply 44May 22, 2023 2:34 AM

Is Miss Clay wearing a cape???

Also, what did he do to his face???

by Anonymousreply 45May 22, 2023 2:35 AM

They can still sing.

by Anonymousreply 46May 22, 2023 2:43 AM

100% R46.

That was an incredible performance by Ruben and Clay.

by Anonymousreply 47May 22, 2023 2:46 AM

OMG Iam won!

I'm shocked.

I was sure Megan would win.

by Anonymousreply 48May 22, 2023 2:58 AM

The marketing nightmare begins.

by Anonymousreply 49May 22, 2023 2:59 AM

R37 here, smug as all get out.

by Anonymousreply 50May 22, 2023 3:05 AM

A great day for the Ample Community!

by Anonymousreply 51May 22, 2023 5:19 AM

I honestly didn't know this was still running. Does anybody watch it?

by Anonymousreply 52May 22, 2023 5:43 AM

Omg not a dry eye in the house with James Blunt and Iam Tongi.

^ And the country guy’s fans are claiming … wait for it, that the voting was rigged. Because MAGAts are known to be such gracious losers.

Colin & that chick had no business being in the top 3. We Ani should have been in the top 3. But I have no with Iam Tongi winning, he is great!

by Anonymousreply 65May 22, 2023 10:49 PM

Iam should do a duet with Chrissy Metz!

by Anonymousreply 66May 23, 2023 12:33 AM

I have to post a two-part post here.

First off, notice the new guitar that was designed specifically for Iam, with the name of his father Rodney and the tattoo design on it.

The hottie on the left designed it for him. He's a New Zealander Maori artist.

We Ani sounding better than Jasmine Sullivan was all you needed to know about who should of won.

by Anonymousreply 70May 23, 2023 2:51 AM

As Iam is about to find out, the flaw in the "American Idol" plan is that votes don't equal concert tickets.

by Anonymousreply 71May 23, 2023 5:53 AM

He’ll probably be able to make a living as a musician. That’s a win.

by Anonymousreply 72May 23, 2023 5:55 AM

Who the fuck still watches this show

by Anonymousreply 73May 23, 2023 6:09 AM

Iam can move back to Hawaii (if he wants to anyways) and be a star there.

by Anonymousreply 74May 23, 2023 6:35 AM

R73, See r60.

by Anonymousreply 75May 23, 2023 8:53 AM

by Anonymousreply 76May 23, 2023 8:56 AM

Most Americans are fat. Skinny all the time is not a real representation of America.

by Anonymousreply 78May 23, 2023 12:40 PM

He can barely walk.

by Anonymousreply 79May 23, 2023 5:09 PM

Like Iz (Israel Kamakawiwo`ole), he will no doubt die young.

by Anonymousreply 80May 23, 2023 5:46 PM

Correction R74: Iam could BE a Hawaiian island.

by Anonymousreply 81May 23, 2023 6:10 PM

Well R73, obviously, you don't, but a lot of people still do!

by Anonymousreply 82May 24, 2023 2:41 PM

This Iam kid has no chance in the industry. At least Ruben could walk around the stage. An 18 year old with morbid obesity that's part of a cult religion doesn't need to be part of the music industry, he needs to be in rehab.

Idol used to see success because they focused on talent that not only had the vocals, but had the look and the drive to hook in audiences. Kelly Clarkson looked the part of a pop star in 2002 and was a vocal powerhouse with drive and spunk. Various winners have gone on to flop, but most seasons pre-2010 saw at least a couple successful acts come out of the top 10. It was grueling and demanding behind the scenes, but the producers knew what worked on TV.

Now the show focuses on how they make you feel with no substance or music industry preparation. That's why we see crybaby snowflake contestants like We Ani having her daddy comment on Katy Perry's Instagram to bitch about how she gave a critique he didn't like.

by Anonymousreply 83May 24, 2023 4:51 PM

Why didn't We Ani perform at the finale?

Normally, if a person came in fourth place, they would be in the performance lineup.

by Anonymousreply 84May 24, 2023 4:56 PM

Iam Tongi was with Kelly and Michael on Monday morning. He must have paid for two seats on the plane. What kind of parents does he have (I know the father died) who would allow their teen-ager to become morbidly obese? This abuse is as bad a what Jeanette Bloshinsky did to her son, Jared.

[quote] Katy Perry Wants to Quit 'American Idol' and Thinks Producers "Threw Her Under the Bus"

Katy Perry has faced some criticism this season on American Idol, and apparently she's ready to quit the show because of it. According to a new report in the Daily Mail, Katy feels like she is being thrown under the bus by producers who she thinks have edited her to seem like the "nasty" judge.

A source says that this season has been particularly hard on Katy—especially due to being accused on mom shaming by a contestant who quit the show.

"Katy feels like [the producers] threw her under the bus," the source explained. "She feels like her comments could have been removed. Katy became aware of the harsh criticism. Getting booed really upset her. She was trying to stay in her lane, do her job and go home."

The insider added that Katy "went into it thinking she was going to foster young talent. For her good intentions to be misinterpreted it was not what she wanted. She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge. Katy's wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle."

Katy makes a reported $25 million per season of American Idol, but according to the source the money doesn't matter as much as much as her legacy: "[Katy's decision to quit] is not a money thing. For her, it is starting to be more of a legacy issue. She does not want her career defined by a talent competition show where she isn’t even performing."

Guess we'll see what happens?

I hate how they do it now..weeks and weeks of auditions, Hollywood rounds, then once they get to the live performances, it’s like bam bam bam, multiple cuts each week, rushing to the finale. No time for anyone to gain momentum.

And what are the judges even for once the live performances begin? NO ONE gets any kind of criticism, and whatever personality trait or “story” that is assigned to a singer during the auditions—that’s what the judges will say about them every week. “Your grandpappy would be so proud”, “Wow, that voice and you’re only 16,” etc.
