Dolly Parton's Rock Album will be huge

This is either going to be crazy good or crazy terrible. Is this tracklist genuine?

Only for diehard Dolly fans. So, minor flop.

New fans will not be attracted to her homage to old rock 'n' roll songs and their superannuated performers.

30 songs?!

STEVIE NICKS!!!!!!!!!!!

“What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You” is my favorite Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac outtake/demo. It’s going to be a car wreck, neither Dolly nor Stevie have the voice to pull it off, the saving grace will be Waddy’s crunchy guitar work.

I love Dolly, but there's no way this album could ever be released. This appears to be fan fiction.

I've had sufficient.

I'd want to hear this one, at least:

You're an idiot, r5. Stevie posted a pic of them recording "What Has Rock And Roll Ever Done For You?" in the studio backing January.

Stevie wrote and recorded the song around 1986-1986, but never released it. It's a fun song!

I love Dolly but she has no voice left whatsoever.

by Anonymousreply 9May 12, 2023 10:41 PM

R9 Yeah, Dolly speaks with a very noticeable lisp now. ONJ was easily outsinging her here, and she was literally on her last lags.

R10 Yeah. I mean, it's probably why she's doing all these duet type things, so she can get a verse or two in and let the original folks do their thing.

I'm excited to hear the "Heartbreaker" duet. It's my favorite Pat Benatar song.

#7 Either Or (feat. Kid Rock)

Dolly is Making America Great Again

by Anonymousreply 14May 12, 2023 11:46 PM

R14, Dolly wants to celebrates decades of America's rock music. This a not a strident political album.
