One of my favorite films. A great depiction from all angles of the year 2000.

Today the drug trafficking in this movie seems quaint.

Benicio was sweaty and greasy throughout the movie but I thought he never looked hotter. I liked the condom in the cigarette box trick.

R3 Yes. It is between del Toro and Javier Bardem for me. Both HOT AF

Not every director can keep multiple threads going and balance the stories. Soderbergh did well here and in [italic]Contagion[/italic]. I was watching an old [italic]Person of Interest[/italic] episode (S1, E7, Witness) yesterday and noticed Jonathan Nolan pulled it off.

It was on my mind because I'm reading a sprawling Neal Stephenson book told from various perspectives. He's a little clunkier with this, but I stick with it because he's good at speculative fiction.

R4, you can't leave out Edgar Ramirez.

I watched this last night. Stay up past my bedtime. I always enjoyed this movie. I forgot how many cameos were in the movie. Not just seeing the senators like Arlen Spector and Barbara Boxer or Harry Reid, etc. But Tom Finney, Benjamin Bratt, and James Brolin. And Dennis Quaid as slimey Arnie. Clifton Collins as Frankie Flowers so good. Katherine Zeta Jones was actually pregnant in the movie. I loved Don Cheadle in this and Miguel Ferrer was brilliant. Erika Christensen and Topher Grace. And of course Michael Douglas and Amy Irving.

Benicio was really really good in this.

I think Bauer got type cast from this movie. He was in Scarface, with Al Pacino as a drug dealer, played a shady community leader in Primal Fear with Richard Gear But he is very hot. I noticed him years ago when he was in a made for TV movie about the Munich Olympics. It was called Sword of Gideon. Spielberg used it as the basis of his movie Munich with Eric Bana as the lead.
