She was never ugly, that's just how she felt. The physical changes have been modest (i.e. weight loss) but it has clearly improved her self-image. She looks great.

I always find it sad when the self-hatred that so many talented women have results in things like this. The weight loss, the horrifying face work (yes you Nicole) the plastic bodies...It's all a manifestation of our darkest impulses.

If she’s doing it for herself, and great. But doubtful. Everyone has to be the glamorous, Instagram-ready, fashionista now. Being a smart writer is not enough. Being known for your thoughts rather than your looks is retrograde.

I’ve always found Mindy to be a funny writer (she wrote the best episodes of the Office) but her insane inferiority complex is such a turn off.

The woman I see in the photos looks great. I refuse to believe these are unfiltered, unretouched shots of Mindy Kaling who achieved it all through diet and exercise. And since I never liked her before, I don't want to listen to her now.
