Its better than KFC but not great. Just compare it to whatever mid level chicken restaurant chains your country has. The burgers are OK though.

Think rotisserie grocery store chicken with an array of spicy sauce options. It was more loved maybe 15 years ago or so than now. It will probably always live on in the expression โgo for a cheeky Nandoโsโ.

The most interesting thing about Nandoโs is the fact they own the largest collection of contemporary South African art in the world, bought to be displayed in their restaurants.

I prefer Nandoโs chicken to all US chicken chains except Popeyes

I didn't realize the art collection was so extensive in quantity, R6.
Nando's in the U.K. is nothing really memorable but if in the mood for some roasted or fried chicken in peri-peri sauce, it's not bad. It's marinated in sauce and then served with additional sauce to taste and choices of rice options, potatoes, vegetables, also pita and hummus, halloumi, and some vegetarian options and wraps/pita choices. It's a well-oiled corporate machine, the food dependably good (not great), cooked to order, and minimal table service. Ordering and waiting for your food to come around is a fast-food pace, otherwise they are not in a hurry to rush people out and there are staff in the restaurant seating area to help customers with anything, to answer questions, to clean up and welcome new guests -- it's not fine dining, but a cheap and cheeky (as R2 might have it) experience, more civilized and relaxed and substantial than that of the big American fast food chains.
It's not the 'grab a quick meal at Burger King' experience of shoving everything hurriedly into yourself before the dodgy dude with the gangrenous leg finds his way to your table and offers to bus your tray for some coins. It's more like lunch at a pub where you figure out the menu, give your order at the bar to the bartender, and then the food finds it way to your table.

[quote] They also advised Nando's to design each restaurant individually so no two restaurants were the same, a brand characteristic of the chain.
About Nando's in UK, I find this concept interesting, it feels more like a local dinning spot than the the same design chain restaurant everywhere.
