Anyone have it? I recently had a colonoscopy and they say I have diverticulsis (not inflamed like -itis). It doesn't appear to be anything too major, but does it eventually go away? They removed a polyp and sent it to a lab. Will know results in a week.
Diverticulosis or diverticulitis

I don't think it ever "goes away." The thing you have to worry about is it becoming -itis, which it did for me a few years ago. I had to on antibiotics to fight off any potential infection. I thought I might have it again a few weeks ago, but they did a CT scan and determined that I did not. I'm curious if they advised you not to eat things like popcorn and seeds, which supposedly can exacerbate the -osis by getting stuck in the pouches of your intestines. When I was first diagnosed with, they made that recommendation. But with this most recent situation, they told me that this had been debunked.

I also have Diverticulosis, OP. It's pain, and has gotten slowly worse. If I eat popcorn (I don't) or too much meat or roughage, I get cramps. I don't eat that anymore, so now my diet is fairly bland and I don't have any problems.

Diverticulitis is when diverticulosis gets infected and it can be life threatening. I’ve had it twice and the last time was told I might need surgery.
Whenever I start to feel a twinge in my colon (lower left quadrant) I go on a clear liquid diet for a day or two to let my gut rest. Normally I have a high fiber diet and drink tons of water.
Yes, they now say eating seeds and popcorn does not contribute to it but my last attack came after I ate popcorn so I won’t ever eat it again and avoid poppy and sesame seeds.
