Sorry - I just watched the promo. It starts on May 12th.

I honestly can't remember most of the contestants. Nobody stands out from what I saw. Yikes.

They've run out of "stars."

R4, I was just about to mention the same thing, I don't remember a majority of the queens competing.

Oh fuck, I quit watching a couple years ago, but I may have to watch this one. Because of Jimbo.

Have they ever had another non-American contestant compete on a regular season of American all stars? Bringing Jimbo in makes me think RuPaul really wants him in the finals.

And I love Heidi N Closet and Lala Ri.

I predict Jimbo, Heidi and Lala are the top three, with Heidi taking the crown.

But I hate the All-Stars rules. They could be the first three to go because they're the biggest competition.

(also surprised that RuPaul didn't manage to shoehorn Jujubee into another season)

Actually, looking at the cast, it's pretty fucking strong! Even Jaymes Mansfield who went home first is a strong competitor. She was one of those queens that I felt like got eliminated way too early.

Overall I think they picked really good contestants. And Kandy Muse.

I would love to see Denali back, but maybe it's better to wait a while and not go up against Lala Ri again. Because I think Denali could be an all stars winner. But not in this crowd.

Where Kandy is concerned: I can only ever see a man in makeup when I look at him. No matter how hard he tries, the transformation is never fully successful as far as I'm concerned. Also: he may be the mouthiest, trashiest thing on that show since Vanessa Vanjie Mateo (who can at least assemble a look), Willam, or even Venus D Lite.

Maybe Kandy Muse is there for the redemption.

I absolutely couldn't stand Ra'Jah O'Hara her first time around. She was so mean and arrogant. But then, on all stars, I was rooting for her to win, because she was a totally different person. She was nice, kind, sweet and a full 180 from who she was in her regular season.

I think the Ra'Jah O'Hara we saw originally wasn't really her. It seemed like she wanted to create drama and be the season villain intentionally. And then the version we saw on all stars was who she really is.

The term I want to use is "scraping the bottom of the barrel"... scraping right through the bottom until they hit dirt.

I specifically remember Jimbo being a real asshole on his Canadian season. Like he had a serious personality and anger disorder. Passive aggressive to the max and very vindictive towards the other contestants. I'm obviously not a fan.

I used to love Jimbo until UK vs the World when he got messy with Pangina.

If you think anyone other than Kandy is winning this you weren't paying attention to her first season. Ru LOVES her, despite Kandy being a talentless loudmouth. Shitty performances, shitty runways - none of it mattered.

I don't mind Jimbo's attitude. It's clear that it comes from a place of deep love. And fury.

Kandy Muse represents the not inconsiderable "Mop & Muumuu" drag population.

Jimbo would have been perfect on Season 2 of US RPDR.

Wow, Kylie Sonique Love has come a LONG way since season 2!! I was happy for her when she won all stars, but seeing that clip of her from season2...she looked ROUGH!

Gah. I had forgotten how fucking annoying Kahanna Montrese is.

Two episodes of disappointment. I like the cast - especially James Mansfield, Jessica Wilde, Heidi, Alexis and La La Ri.

But it's more canned than ever. These up to the neck breast plates gotta STOP.

Jimbo is an ASS. Everyone knows this. A truely hateful person. Sick fuck. 15 seasons and 8 all star seasons and Jimbo really does manage to insult WOMEN. I can't stand his thread lift smile and rubber suit.

Pangina Heals is such a different presence. A sexy man and a joyful queen. Both Lip Syncs kind of sucked. Cyndi Lauper? Fuck that. This series is getting OLDer than OLD.

Ru looks thick with a double chin. Lose the dark eye makeup. It's not for you.

Darienne is not long for the game - which is too bad because she is a great lip sync queen and a naturally funny bitch. Beloved by more than Bianca. Lake was a great queen on tour. His I Dream of Jeannie number was a showstopper when he was 350 lbs, for real. He's past 50 now and nothing can hide his lack of energy and loose skin.

Alexis Michelle looks great. Stunning. BoB fucked him you know. Now Alexis is hot for La La Ri. Why not? That's some beautiful hi energy body chocolate. I expect La La, Alexis and hopefully James Mansfield to make it to the finale with the grotesque and unfathomable Kandy.

Heidi is adorable. In a Jujubee and Vanjie kind of way. They return with more expensive but ugly drag and the same charm. In a can. Never as much talent or uniqueness as we remember.

Mrs. Kasha Davis should thank her swollen ankles they let her 1960's backwater bar queen in the door. Many $$$ come her way. People may dislike Alexis, but Alexis is talented. Mrs. Davis is nothing. Really nothing. I don't get it.

At first I innocently misread this as All Stars "B", but the shade stands...

Nah, it's not that Jimbo is an asshole, it's that he's not really a drag queen. He's a clown. Who dresses up like women. So I can get him not taking well to all the shade that the real drag queens throw around and getting sick of it. Even after his fights with Rita and Pangina, he went online and told everybody that he loved them both, and that there were no hard feelings, and they did the same thing. If he seems like an asshole, it's because he doesn't throw shade, he throws bricks.

I think if you counted the number of genuinely nice and kind contestants on drag race, you can do it on one hand.

Jinkx Monsoon, Bendela, Jujubee, Heidi, Lala, and I'll add Denali as a bonus. I can't think of anyone else that didn't say something cutting or cruel at some point.

And then Priyanka from Canada.

So you can count it on one hand (of a person who has an extra pinky.)

The lip sync at the end of ep 2 is interesting in its coincidence.

I like Jimbo BECAUSE he's a nasty bitch. Drag Race was way better before everyone got too scared to misbehave.

I'm a little surprised not to see Tina Burner or Gottmik among this (underwhelming) cast. Those are two that I thought would immediately jump on the All Stars train at the earliest opportunity.

Also surprised that they haven't brought back Gigi Goode yet either.

I’ve watched every episode of every season, but Of this crew I only remember Jimbo, Jessica Wild, Darienne, Heidi, Lala, Alexis (ugh), and Kandy (double ugh).

I’d forgotten how cute boy Jessica is. Still love weird Jimbo, and funny Heidi. I’d be fine with them being top 3, or maybe sub Lala for Jessica. The rest are zzzzz…but as said before, there is NO way Creature From Black Lagoon, er, Kandy won’t be in the Top 3.

This is one of the weakest casts they have ever had.

I think Gottmik is doing pretty well on her own, and doesn't need to go on All-Stars for additional attention and the possibility of losing again. She came in with an unfair advantage. (Not that she was trans.) She came from a wealthy family and she was able to spend way more on her drag than anyone else. I think I read something like, some of these queens have to spend $20,000 or more in costumes before they go on. That's outrageous. It's a gamble. Spend $20,000 to possibly win $100,000. Before taxes? Pass. I'd rather go on survivor (plus, I'm not a drag queen).

I was kind of shocked Gigi Goode didn't win her season. So, I can understand the hesitation to return. The All-Stars rules suck. Letting the queens choose who goes home? They're just targeting the strongest competitors.

I love Jimbo, haven’t really watched drag race in a couple years but I’d watch Jimbo for jokes and drama.

Under this format All-Stars doesn't get interesting until a few weeks in when the stronger queens start landing in the bottom. I prefer the AS 7 format, but even then Ru couldn't help but fuck with it to get the final two she wanted.

They're passing some money to the All Stars queens so there's less of the obvious issue of poor versus rich "contestants."

But them's that got more still spend more.

Yes they give All Stars queens some wardrobe allowance. Monica Beverly Hillz is not exactly a working drag queen!

$20,000 is a gross underestimate. The Vice article from a few years back that had a lot of DR queens' input revealed that some contestants have spent more that $70,000 to compete on Drag Race.

I get a little tired of the overly opulent looks to be honest. I think good wigs and shoes are important though.

All Stars All Winners did not have the best looks of any season in my opinion. Yeah, Jinkx had on some expensive fabrics and wigs, but it was still dumpy old Jinkx. Raja layered fashion on top of fashion and mostly looked a mess. The Viv was elegant and expensive & wonderfully styled - so was called out as too plain. Yvie Oddly - who cares? A pig is lipstick is still Yvie.

Whoa! That is so much worse than the $20,000 that I read!

And Yvie Oddly is hardly a pig in lipstick. I live in Denver and she's our hometown hero. And her jellyfish outfit is hanging in a City owned museum (or at least it was, they may have returned it to her by now).

And the lip sync between her and Brook Lynne Heights was one of the BEST lip syncs of all time. She was a well-deserved winner.

We would've had two hometown heroes, but Willow Pill moved to Chicago. She really blew me away in her season. She walked in in the most basic outfit and my first thought was "oh, she's going home first!" But then I realized her shirt said "Angle" instead of "Angel" and I thought "oh wait, there's something more going on here." And she turned out to be an incredible contestant. Overall I probably would've been happier seeing Lady Camden win because as far as drag queens go, she's a much more traditional and extremely talented queen, but based on originality, Willow Pill was the winner, hands-down. So I ain't mad she won.

With the amount of money RuPaul is making off these queens, it should be a million

R43 Well, she made it two episodes so far and she did great on both of them. What is the hated of MKD? She is a real drag queen, not a wanna be model.

r48,I adore Yvie and am impressed how she is really taking the ball and running as far as she can with it- her glow up is amazing. Willow doesn't seem to put any effort in it at all, but her sense of humor is fun. I too would have been happy seeing Lady C win.

I can barely remember most of the contestants on this one. Some not at all.

Just watched the first episode. We are in for a long season of mediocrity.

I posted that before it aired, but predicted Heidi would win. And if she hadn’t quit, she might have. But I also said I hate the All-Stars rules because they’re designed to eliminate the strongest competitors first.
