How did you find out?
Did your Mom or Dad ever have an affair?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 27, 2023 3:06 PM |
Yes and I knew before my dad found out. Wouldn't be surprised if the kids catching on first is common

My dad cheated on my mom and they divorced after 25 years of marriage. He never told her the truth. I'm the only one who knows, and I've tried to clue her in but she's in denial. My dad is getting married to this same (much younger) mistress, and I'm the best man. Just trying to keep the peace I guess.

My mom brought me on a date with her affair partner when I was 3. He gave me the hugest bunch of balloons I'd ever seen. I thought I was going to fly away.

yes, my dad was rich and he did whatever he wanted. Mom married him for money and she fucked others as well.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 22, 2023 6:27 AM |
Just with me;, but neither of them knew about the other.

My dad went to strip clubs because that's what you did in the 70's and 80's to wine and dine clients in Texas then. I don't think my dad cheated but it did cause a rift in their marriage. He stopped going and they have been happy ever since...well, now that I bring it up...something might have happened. I just remembered that time Mom drove me to the coast and asked me if I ever felt like disappearing and starting over. Yeah, I'm uncertain.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 22, 2023 7:37 AM |
Yeah, but y'know these things happen to everyone. I'm so over it.

My parents were swingers.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 22, 2023 7:53 AM |
My mom, and the other man was cheating too. He was a serial cheater and promised my mom he’d leave his wife, but didn’t, as usual. Meanwhile my mom left my dad. So my mom sent an anonymous letter to his wife to force his hand. It worked. They married and never let each other out of their sight, because you can’t trust a cheater.

Neither parents ever had an affair. I found out when I was 13 and they were both at home watching Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman.

My father couldn't keep his zipper up.
I knew he was having an affair when I was in grade school. There was some woman he kept visiting to "help fix her washing machine."
But I found out I have a half-brother a few years ago. Not from the "washing machine" affair, but from one where he cheated on my mom well before I was ever born.

My had had at least 2 relationships lutside of marriage. That's why I have 3 half-siblings. My mom only had my dad.

After the father of a friend died, it was revealed in his will that he was the biological father of a boy who had lived next door and was the childhood friend of my friend.
They had remained friends over the years, not knowing they were brothers.

R17, I witnessed one huge fight over it. I guess she's gotten over it by now.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 22, 2023 3:56 PM |
My father cheated on my mother throughout their marriage, including marrying her while still remaining married to his first wife who he maintained a relationship and family with in another state. Mom put up with it until he fucked the wife of his best friend, so she fucked the best friend in retaliation. When Dad found out he flipped his lid and ran away with the best friend, who he had also been fucking occasionally over the years, for a few weeks of bisexual bliss before the friend went back to his wife.
Mom and Dad separated and eventually divorced, but remarried several years later and went back to the status quo. Dad had a decent amount of money and an even greater amount of health issues, and Mom was banking on him dropping dead and living large the rest of her life. Fifteen years later, Mom dies. The day after her funeral, Dad moved back in with his first wife.

When I was 10 years old, I found out that my mom had an affair with her boss. who was a Banker at a major corporation in CC Philly. I never knew how my "non-DNA dad" found out I wasn't his bio son, except when he burned me on the upper arm with his Marlboros cigarette. He told me I wasn't his son, I said "Thank U for that!"; as I walking away, he drunken punched me in the head and 2 days later, I woke up in the hospital. But don't worry, I got my revenge on him!!

Do I understand this correctly?
You have agreed to be your father's best man at your father's wedding to the woman with whom he cheated on your mother?
[bold]To keep the peace?[/bold] Is your mother okay with that? Does she know?
Does your father beat you?

Not sure if this was an “affair” or not, but we used to get milk delivered when I was a kid. The guy came at about 8am. It was ideally around the time I left for school. My dad usually left at 7:30. My mom was a housewife.
One day I left and I saw the milk truck parked outside and across the street. My sister and I walked up the block but I then realized I’d left a report I had written at home. I walked my sister to the street where our school was and asked a girl from my homeroom, Rosalie, to walk my sister the rest of the way.
I went back home to get my report. I had just enough time.
When I got home the milk truck was still across the street. I went upstairs and as I was walking up the stairs I saw someone was lying on the bed in my parents bedroom. Then I saw my mother get on the bed below him and she lifted the biggest dick I’ve ever seen in my life up in her hand. Big as in wide more than long — it was like two and a half inches in diameter! And the glans was huge. My mom made a yummy noise, then she put the glans in her mouth and there was a deep moan from the person on the bed, who was dressed in white and pretty obviously the milkman.
I couldn’t believe what I’d just seen and slowly backed my way back down the stairs and left as quietly as I could, without my report.

R2, what does your mom think caused the divorce? Also, how does your mom feel about you being best man in your dad's wedding to his mistress? You might not be "keeping the peace." Personally, there's no way I'd be the best man in that wedding.

There were thoughts that my dad did...they separated a couple times but came back to each other. He died when I was a senior in high school - complications of rheumatic fever when he was a child.
My mom remarried to a man that treated her very well (family fried from the past). She told him that I was gay prior to marrying him and he said he was okay (they were married for 30 years).
He was cordial until the end when my mom had alzheimer's, He mis-understood something I was doing, overrated and threw me out of their house the day before Thanksgiving (I was visiting from LA). My mom vaguely knew what was going on and wanted me to stay at my sister's house (also in that city). I just wanted out of there and wanted to go home....I thought this stuff only happened in TV but apparently not - luckily I found a seat on a flight back to LA....I was in shock by the whole thing - I can remember getting a diet coke at the airport and the cashier asked me if I was okay...wow, guess I looked like I felt.
He ended up dying 5 months later from a wound that caused sepsis (he had diabetes). We put my mom in memory care and she died 2 years later.
I knew he didn't like me but all that mattered was he was nice to my mom....

When I came out to my mom by telling her "Mom, I have a boyfriend" she replied "Oh well, so do I, so we're even. See now? It wasn't difficult for either of us. BUT DON'T EVER TELL YOUR FATHER ABOUT MY AFFAIR." She was an anesthetist and was having an affair with her boss, the head of the pediatric department of her hospital. It was the first and last time she mentioned the affair, so I have no idea how long it lasted.

I don’t have concrete proof, but I think my dad cheated. I was the youngest and last at home and I overheard some arguments that seemed to be about him and another woman. He was denying it, bu things were tense for a while, but then I went off to college and whenever I went home things seemed…fine? They were always lovey dovey with each other, even after that period..but mostly slept in separate bedrooms as far as I know. My mom died young and suddenly, in her early 60s, and it wasn’t even a month until Dad was seeing a lady, who I am pretty sure was the one the arguments were about. I never said anything because EVERYONE, not just my family, put my dad on a pedestal. He was movie star handsome, a firefighter, church deacon, etc. If I ever said anything negative about him, it would have been ME who was the asshole.
My older siblings and aunts seemed to be just fine that he was dating this woman so quickly. I did not like her and didn’t want to be around her. I was accused of not liking anyone who would possibly “replace” my mom, and while that was a bit of it, I just thought she was weird and semi trashy. My dad eventually realized that, and broke it off.
He wound up remarrying a sweet little churchgoing lady. I liked her a lot and was happy for him and that he had someone kind to spend his final years with. They died within a year of each other.
I think my dad was really a good man, but maybe just not as good as everyone thought.

My mom had a long-term, chronic illness, and died young.
I'm sure sex wasn't an option in her last few years.
One night, when my mom was in the hospital, Dad came home with this woman and had a candlelight dinner with her in our living room.
He told my sister and me to stay in our rooms and not interrupt, but we managed a couple of discreet peeks. We were both in disbelief, as it was so unlike him to do something like this.
After they had their dinner, the two of them left, so at least they didn't fuck in our house.
We were so freaked out by it, that we never asked him about it, or even talked to each other about it. In fact, I blocked it from my memory completely and didn't remember it at all until much, much later in life.
I don't blame him for fucking another woman when his wife was too weak and ill to have sex. Hell, for all I know, Mom gave him permission.
What I'll never understand is why he brought her into our home, and flaunted this "affair", or whatever it was, in front of his kids. That was some weird-ass behavior.
Years later, his 2nd wife totally cheated on him after only a few years of marriage. Ha!

My dad had an affair w a neighbor woman for whom I babysat. She was talking about the affair in code w her girlfriends. I went to get the kid a snack. She was in the kitchen too. I asked her if she thought I was stupid. She acted confused. I repeated myself and added “do you think I don’t understand what’s you’re talking about?” She looked very uncomfortable. For some reason I STILL BABYSAT! Nothing like midwestern codependence. The affair ended. My parents stayed together. They probably shouldn’t have. They would’ve both been happier.

I know he not only cheated with at least one woman but had a secret family with her. They had three kids. My mom found out after 10 years when a friend of his told her. I'm not sure if the relationship was consummated but back in the 60s, when I was around 5 or 6, my mother began volunteering at our parish. She became friendly with the parish priests, especially one priest in particular, Father Mike. He would sometimes play golf with my parents and would come over for drinks and dinner. (I remember being flabbergasted the first time I saw him without "his collar" and drinking a beer!) Anyway, there was one time he was over to our house when my dad and I were away at an all-day outing. I recall walking into the house with my dad to find my mom and Father Mike sitting together on the sofa having a cocktail. I don't recall exactly what was said but my dad told Father Mike to leave. I was sent outside to play and my parents proceeded to have a very loud argument. Father Mike was never at our house after that. It was only years later that I realized something may have been going on between my mom and Father Mike.

My dad gave my mom a venereal disease, which is how she found out. Many years later, my brother's friends ran across my father walking in a mall holding hands with a strange woman and of course they told my brother about it. But he didn't tell my mom on him. My parents later divorced when my dad took up with yet another woman, a neighbor. They later got married.

R34 She confided in me that the two of them barely had sex for the last 15 years of their marriage, so it makes sense in her mind. There was one day when I told her straight out what I knew, but she prefers to believe him instead. That's what our family does; we keep the peace and sweep any conflict or messy emotions under the rug. THAT'S why I'm the best man, not for any inheritance long-game, but because if I said "no" I would be the overdramatic asshole ruining everyone's special day.
